Re: Using rsync to backup home folder
You could do something like rsync -av --delete --delete-excluded --exclude-from="exclude.txt" etc and in exclude.txt e.g. chris/.conan/ chris/.recoll/ chris/.steam/ chris/.local/share/Steam/ chris/.mozilla/firefox/ chris/.cache/ chris/.cargo/ chris/.local/share/Trash/ chris/.local/share/ba...

De OP schrijft dat iemand zegt dat "Ubuntu Spyware is". Dat is duidelijk klinkklare onzin, dan is er toch geen enkele reden om naar spyware te gaan zoeken??

[solved] asnbank browser code

[solved] asnbank browser code
Heeft iemand ervaring met het instellen van zo'n browser code in Linux Mint bijv. met Firefox of Chrome?
Volgens de ASNBank zou het moeten kunnen werken met Linux Ubuntu, vandaar mijn vraag.
bedankt alvast, Hans.

Re: foxclone.deb fails to install
Since this instance of Linux Mint is only used to startup foxclone (on the external disk) I can use 2 workarounds for the screen scale issue: a) set resolution to 1920*1080 or b) increase font sizes all over. option a is the better workaround. Because option b requires manual window size adjustments...

Re: foxclone.deb fails to install
So I followed your wget and now the install is OK. Foxclone runs. Reading System and esp. Searching for OS takes a long time, around 2 minutes. Maybe because 1 partition is MacOS. So now I can select the drive and partitions to backup to Image Files in 4 boxes. Below those boxes only a Quit button i...

LM21 default font is Ubuntu Regular 10
Yes, the locale was using Flemish / Dutch (I did not choose that myself, the installer did based on my location / time /date). Changed that to US

Re: USB DAC/AMP support
This is a dangerous question asked many times before. It all depends what you call "full intended detail". A very affordable USB DAC with basic headphone support which is much better than the usual pc on-board DACS is f.i. the Behringer UCA202. Works with my Sennheiser HD595. But you can e...

You can investigate the cause for the delay by checking the system log files. You can search the forum to learn how to do that.

Re: NVME SSD with Mint installed not recognized as bootable in UEFI
Another guess: was BIOS reset or changed in any way? If your mobo's bios has a fast boot option, change it to 'not use fast boot' and reboot. Maybe the EFI partition if it is there, will be recognized.

Just tried to download, all images and locations fail to download, firefox reports 'failed'.
Restarting PC did not help, downloads from other sites complete OK.
Any issues on foxclone.com?
edit: foxclone.org downloaded OK.

Re: TP Link WiFi extender
First get the manual on the internet if you do not have it anymore. Then properly reset the TP-Link Device (probably a pinhole on the case somewhere). Then you can follow the setup procedure in the manual. It will assume / state that you have not connected an ethernet cable to the device. These devi...

Future Timeshift issue?
Timeshift uses rsync. rsync updated to vs. 3.2.4. In Arch / Manjaro this leads to issues. The Timeshift developer does not (seem to) respond. see: https://github.com/teejee2008/timeshift/issues/891 I know that Mint is not using this version yet. So this is a headsup. Maybe the developers are already...

Maybe you can use the system monitor function and find out what program is using all that disk space.
