Re: 19.2 buggy ?

The question must be asked: Who decides which programs may live on when each new one version is released and opportunities disappear: Someone mentioned the "popularity" associated with the reason Gnome-Commander quit to operate in ROOT mode. We have now introduced a system where the mob is going dec...

[SOLVED ]Re: Why is this partition automounted ?

I disabled TIMESHIFT . It was there : Someone wrote: Oh! I missed that in your post, I thought you were saying if your ran timeshift on live session then started the installer it would keep the mount for the installation. Either way, that's not a good method. I've been thinking it defaults t...

Re: 19.2 buggy ?

It is strange how some want to claim that startup time is of little importance: Here I have shown my acquaintances how exceptionally good linux MINT Mate is (17.3) in ALL regards and how effective it is and how useless Windows is. Plus it's free! And all the programs you need in your day-to-day work...

Karlchen wrote: 12 seconds consumed by apt-daily.service is not unusual. I will read much longer times here, especially if this is during the first startup on a given day. Re: 19.2 buggy ?

OK, sorry - I thought the item at the top was a little time consuming though.

Anyway : another example of strange behavior: When I make a screen-capture and save the pictur to
the desktop it does not show up .

When I start the filemanager : THEN IT SHOWS on the desktop !

Undelete files SD-card

Does anyone have OWN EXPERIENCE of successfully recovering deleted
files (image / movie) from an SD card?

If so, what program was used and what did the command line look like?

Every NEW version "logbook" which automatically noted in the background any changes you make?

One thing that I have been thinking about for a long time is that each year we give a new version of the best distribution of lInux = MINT, with improvements that make you leave the old and skip to the new but with a big and extensive problem: ALL the settings and everything "furniture" that needs t...

Re: Google Earth does not work !

I care so I ask questions for everyone's benefit. One thing that I've noticed over the years since I got into the WORTHY purposeful (genius & taste) Linux world is that some software vendors deliberately sabotage us who don't want to run win / macos. I came in via Mandrake and some other (Redhat) kn...

Well, my friend you told me so but it is not the first time I encounter this kind of problem and I am sure it will happen in the future as well. I am a USER ; I use my computer : a very simple desktop computer with no extra power in graphics and so on , just a simple 4-core Intel 16 GB RAM and some ...

Re: Google Earth does not work !

I installed mint mate 19.2 on another disk and then Google Earth and it worked right away! I guess it's easier not to try to fix the problem with 18.3 but wait until I can set everything in 19.2 as I'm used to having it. One question only: how to fix the sharp corners? I don't like sharp corners. I ...

Re: Google Earth does not work !

So what you are suggesting is that I spend a whole lot of time to scrap everything that I
built under long time NOW this instant just to get G_EARTH to work by installing 19.2 ?

Instead of getting to the bottom of WHY I did not work in 18 ? Did it work in 17 ?
