Printer... must use actual drivers.
I was wondering, when I let 20.3 install my printer, it sort of works, but for some reason won't print certain things, or will only print the first page. But if I manually install the drivers, then it works well. Why?

What is going on with the audio in Kazam?
Every time I try to set the audio IN Kazam, it immediately reverts to low level, this is both for the speakers and microphones.
And everytime I start Kazam it changes, lowers, various audio settings in my Linux Mint audio settings (the ones you get to by hitting the note thing in the bottom right).

Mint 20 and 20.1 edge keyboard lights go off and on randomly
All versions are cinnamon.
But on MINT 20 and 20.1 edge, I have this issue where my keyboard lights go off then on randomly.
This does not happen when I switch back to 18.3.
Same hardware for all version.
Any idea as to what causes this?

Re: Brother HL-L2300D Printer Install
I got it to work by doing this http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=hll2300d_us_eu_as&os=128 Go there and download the first 3 files. The LPR, Cups, and installer (they just have those letters and words as part of the name) Put them in the download folder. R...

Brother HL-L2300D Printer Install
I tried the stuff here https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/15 But it does not work. It will tell me it is printing, and that printing has completed, but nothing comes out the printer, and yes, the printer does work when I hit the go button. It just will not print anything from my comp...

I have decided to put all my improvement demands in one place. 12345
This prevents excess threads and helps me keep track of the demands I have already made (which is why I included that number in the title so I could easily search for this again. There is, as far as I know, no way for me to search for the threads I have made in a specific forum, so this is much easi...

make the full update descriptions and change logs available in the update history
This would be a lot better than looking for a description in a search engine only to find some dodgy website that gives and incomplete description and therefore an inaccurate impression of the update.

Re: What exactly was the point in uploading javascript into my computer?
1) I realize now that javascript was already on the system and this was just a security update 2) I would have know this sooner if when I went to the history I could see the descriptions and change logs still. I looked it up on a website and the very limited description I saw made it sound like java...

Re: What exactly was the point in uploading javascript into my computer?
Yeah, cus like, I should have to do a search to keep garbage from being loaded in to my computer during an update. Why is this in an update instead of in the appstore? I have already spent HOURS screwing with this crud. I just wanted to do some typing and gaming, but no!!!! EVEN THAT HAS TO BE HARD!...

What exactly was the point in uploading javascript into my computer?
I mean, confused? Why would you include this garbage in an update? Why would I need javascript? This is a security risk. What is the point in having this crud on a MINT system? And why don't you make it more noticeable when you do insane things like load javascript, needlessly onto a MINT machine?! ...

Re: ATTN!...Intel CPU owners (Spectre & Meltdown flaws)
I gotta ask something. Why is the ghost carrying a twig? https://insights.ubuntu.com/2018/01/04/ubuntu-updates-for-the-meltdown-spectre-vulnerabilities/ I think they screw up things like this just so they can sell more processors... Then we'll find those are screwed too and we'll have to buy new one...

I don't even know what flatpaks are. Weirdness... not wierdness. I wish my spell checker would pick up the error in the title. I hate english. I am a native speaker, and I hate it.

Like, my gimp tool bar window things go missing, you know the ones to the sides that are always open by default, and then when I open them they don't wanna work right and are missing things? And cd rips not working right and stalling out... stuff like that?

So, why put a limit on file names in the first place? Is there a way to remove that limit?
