Thanks... I found the seahorse app after I made the last post, so all is OK now. Have used L M since 17.00, and not come across the keyring dialog before, its non intuitive at best and scary at worst :( ...

LInux Skype doesn't keep its own saved passwords, if you sign in to Skype you get a plain pop up from gcr-prompter. (a Gnome Key Ring process) asking for password confirmation. I'm dead sure the average user has got no idea what's going on. So many dependencies and possible recursions I am not sure ...

This is only a part solution for Firefox... If the webpage has a reader view alternative, there will be a page icon to the right of the search bar. (If you need more information about reader view, google it as "how-to-geek reader view browsers".) Click on the page icon, once reader view loads, print...

This happened to me once, an update to the Linux kernel was included in a Linux Mint upgrade, and there was no longer automatic support for the Wireless module on the motherboard. I had to research which chip it was, make and type, and search the web for a linux driver.

Update Manager Icon ... LM 19 Xfce

I upgraded from Linux Mint 18.3 Xfce edition to 19.0 according to Clem's tutorial. I get a new Notification (bell) item on the panel next to the clock but the update manager icon (which used to show a tick if you were up to date) has now disappeared. How do I get this icon back?

Still having the same problem as above post (now 4 Dec 17) 18.2 xfce 32 on old HP mini
