take a look at " EaseUS Todo Backup Free" it easy to transfer the system files, and
most ssd drives come with software and instructions, fairly easy task..

i am a Retired Design Eng. , have been using kali linux for a while now just recently purged all my ;laptops and installed linux mint 18 now on linux mint 18.3. still learning and enjoy a challenge, cant get some of my favourite programs to work lie i want but i am working on it. have to get Tor Bro...

geez what a newbie,lol, under all applications there is " format USB stick" just pick format with ex4 and done, hey thanks again for the response, great to have this forum.

i will try clonezila, i have been trying to use timeshift but it just comes up and say USB has no linux parturition on it altho i partitioned it earlier.with Gparted,

Simple way to Format usb stick for Linux mint backup

(SOLVED)Has anyone come up with a VERY simple process to format a USB with a linux partition for backing up the complete system??
i now switched to linux mint 18.3 now (new to linux mint)

lol,(newbie here) i started running Linix 2-1/2 years , always run as root, never a problem, never crashed any of the three computers i have linix ( 3 different distro'), and if i ever do i can reload the complete system in a very few minutes, but i will agree if you wish to run in either way its yo...
