Re: Brightness keeps changing when switching between battery and AC
Try this. Install dconf-eitor. Open it and navigate to org -> cinnamon -> settings-daemon -> plugins -> power. Check the following values: idle-dim-battery and idle-dim-time. Mark them and click at the bottom the button to restore to default. If this does not help uncheck idle-dim-battery. Doesn't ...

Brightness keeps changing when switching between battery and AC
I checked the power management options but cannot find any setting responsible for this.
When I unplug my AC cable, it lowers the brightness.
How can I turn this off?

[SOLVED] Skype always autostarts on boot?
Each time I open Skype, it adds itself to the startup applications.
I remove it from the startup applications but the next time I open Skype, it does the same thing again.
Anyone else with the same annoying problem?
I use version 8.13.0.2.

Indeed. Or 18.3 MATE.I would try LM 18.3 Xfce instead of LM 17.1 Cinnamon.

Firefox uses a new technology called Quantum since version 57. I was curious to know whether Palemoon uses it as well. What exactly do you mean by that?

Re: Skype not working anymore Updated
Yes, this new Electron-based Skype generally still is very buggy...Is this now a common Skype issue? I notice for some people Skype works still while reading on the Microsoft site for Skype maybe bugs and issues seem to be a problem now.

Re: Teamviewer 13 not installing in Linux mint 17 qiana(32 bit)
Download the deb file from here and proceed:
https://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/linux/
Gdebi should open the deb file and prompt you to install.
Do you still get any error message when doing it that way?

Re: Cinnamon crashes on startup, can't restart
Recently, I powered it up and I got the "Cinnamon has crashed" message. Using fallback mode isn't terribly useful, I get blank windows and such. Probably a problem with your AMD/ATI graphics driver. Have you already tried a different one? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowt...
