Re: Unable to open Notepadqq as root

Ok, nice trick, thanks.

I`m happy to ignore the defaults ;)

notepadqq is in:

Code: Select all

/usr/bin/notepadqq
The path order shows:

Code: Select all

/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/snap/bin
So, I place your script in

Code: Select all

/usr/local/bin
gave it

Code: Select all

chmod 0755
and it works.

Thanks again.

Unable to open Notepadqq as root

Hi, Since last update of Notepadqq I can`t open files as root in Nemo. So I open Nemo as root double click a text file and nothing happens. I have to do ~ # notepadqq --allow-root & as root to open Notepadqq and then browse to the file to open it,... it`s cumbersome. Is there a way that can be rever...

Re: Persistent manual DNS

It means that those are in use: 192.168.1.158 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 You set those in your router? If yes, then i would think it works as intended. dhclient will apply the settings provided by your router. The DNS servers provided are then used by dnsmasq, which acts as a proxy. That`s why you see 127.0.1....

Re: Persistent manual DNS

What does

Code: Select all

nmcli dev show | grep DNS
look like with default network settings?

If the DNS is shown handed out by your router through DHCP, I would think there is no problem.

Ok, thanks.

Will try that.

Then I ask myself... Why Disks doesn`t have this built-in...?

Re: Slow transfer speeds from samba share

Then there seems nothing badly wrong with speed.
You download with 8 Mb/s and your server upload is 10 Mb/s, that`s 80%, not really bad.

Re: Slow transfer speeds from samba share

Ok,

So 1 MB/s would be ~8 Mb/s
Does that come close to your server side upload and/or client side download?

Re: Slow transfer speeds from samba share

between 973 kBs and cap at exactly 1Mb
Ah, that`s not right.
973 kB/s = ~7.8 Mb/s

Please make sure you state the speeds correctly.

Re: Slow transfer speeds from samba share

That is commercial server version ?
Did you try both UDP and TCP, any difference ?
Firewall in Mint is disabled ?

Can you provide log of server @ --verb 4 from start server until client disconnect ?
Same for client.

Substitute private data in logs (use find and replace in text editor).

What you do not find in the blog is most likely pure speculative. You will not find anybody here who knows more about this than Clem. Especially "one person" has no meaning at all.
Are you saying Clem has no meaning at all?
