Re: Active Connections Not Showing

When looking at the destination port, yes it can unless you have something else connecting to the same destination port, like in this example: Active Internet connections (servers and established) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp 0 0 127.0.1.1:53 0.0.0.0:*...

Re: Active Connections Not Showing

Yes there are.
Take a look at command line utility tcpdump or one with a GUI, Wireshark.

Another from the command line you could also do:

Code: Select all

watch -d -n 1 netstat -atunp

Re: Cron Trim on SSD

How does the cronjob look like?

On 18.3 I do a cron:

Code: Select all

fstrim -a
weekly, it will do all.

Manually with verbose:

Code: Select all

fstrim -av

/home: 40 GiB (42987147264 bytes) trimmed

Re: Weird problem, can't access yahoo mail & other websites since two weeks

Hi,

Can you try to disable IPv6?

Edit the following file as root:

Code: Select all

/etc/default/grub
and add

Code: Select all

ipv6.disable=1
to the line

Code: Select all

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="ipv6.disable=1 ...   ..."
Then reboot and try again.

Re: Weird problem, can't access yahoo mail & other websites since two weeks

In a terminal, can you post output of:

Code: Select all

ifconfig
and

Code: Select all

dig google.com +trace
?
If ifconfig shows a public IP you can obfuscate it.

Re: My local ISP's modem (DSL) has a problem with the WiFi radio

Are you running wavemon as root?
Version 0.8.0? F9 will tell you.

I see some odd values like signal level 105 dBm.

If the laptop has a optical drive, one can replace it with a optical drive caddy for a second SSD/HDD.
Who still needs a DVD drive?

[Solved] How to update libchromaprint?

Hi,

I tried to install latest Mixxx 2.1.3 deb package.
It`s missing libchromaprint >= 1.3.2, currently it`s version 1.3.1.

How would I update?

Thanks.

Re: Searching for an advanced firewall

Iptables was capable of block/allow per application, but the required option was removed from the recent versions. Just a remark, iptables can do that with the owner module. # find / -name *xt_owner* /lib/modules/4.15.0-29-generic/kernel/net/netfilter/xt_owner.ko ... ... Example: PID=cat /path/to/<...
