Re: USB 3.0 Gigabit Adapters

I use that adapter on Manjaro, USB3-E1000 ASIX AX88179, works well saturating 1 Gb/s link.
First ordered one with RTL8153 which was slow, ~40 Mb/s but returned it.

This is above my paygrade. What does it mean?
"exposed to WAN" just means if you did a port forward in your router to remotely access your PC, in this case via SSH.

So yes, for 10 nearly years.

Well, if you take your method but instead run that script it will probably work.

But your method seems easier.

Re: Is it possible to set the firewall to reject all traffic for a particular user but not all users?

A script

Code: Select all

#! /bin/sh

iptables -P INPUT DROP
iptables -P FORWARD DROP
iptables -P OUTPUT DROP
executed when the user logs in can do that.

i have found out more on my own in the last 3 days, than asking questions on here.
And that is a good thing as already stated.

I agree though that some answers have little to do with your question, hence my reaction.

Edit: Quoted wrong sentence.

Re: Application level Firewall

So dramatic...

There is a difference between a network level firewall and application level firewall.
Also NAT offering protection is a myth...

Do research, properly!, before writing instead of parroting.
