I thought this symbol was making the line a comment. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Update: Well, after some investigation I learnt that r...

Re: Adjusting Boot Options in rEFInd

That was great! You are the most rEFInd knowledgeable guy I have come across! To respond to your question, I was under the impression that making myself these manual entries was a requirement. But after learning from what you told me, I'll just use these filters: dont_scan_volumes dont_scan_dirs don...

Re: Adjusting Boot Options in rEFInd

Thank you so much for your valuable info fabien85 :)

I thought I had to put the actual complete file names for these 2 entries below

Code: Select all

loader /vmlinuz-4.15.0-65-generic
initrd /initrd.img-4.15.0-65-generic
And what about these options: quiet elevator=bfq

I normally keep my Backups external drive unplugged, except when doing the backups of course. I just unmounted it, and I was wondering if this is enough?

Let's raise some Linux awareness!

Someone suggested for Character Animator to come to Linux , let's support that! Add your vote! You don't even need to be registered to vote. Even if you're not interested in Character Animator to come to Linux, just being interested in Linux is good enough. Let's all raise some Linux awareness! :D T...

Even though the Cinnamon Menu Editor will add the file seemingly with success to the main menu. This is the resulting path when I select the file: /home/nitro/.ste...

[SOLVED] Where to find the saved game files in Linux Mint?

More specifically, for a game I bought in Steam called Astroneer. It used to be in /Steam/steam-lib/steamapps/compatdata/... etc etc But now there's no Steam folder there anymore. The directory where these files were saved was called: "savegames". I tried searching with that directory name in the ma...

How to steam photos to a tv?

I found this tutorial: "Stream Videos, Music And Pictures From Gnome To Chromecast With Cast To TV Extension"
I wonder if it would work with Linux Mint 19.1 and Roku. Does anyone know?
Or any other way?

[SOLVED] Re: My Date&Time indicator is no longer showing

You were right.
It is not showing as before (it must have been a diff applet). But this one (Calendar) is doing the job, so that's great.
Thank you Moem :)

Re: My Date&Time indicator is no longer showing

What's showing: The applet in the list of Applets (as in the image you posted before).
What's Not showing: the actual time on the lower-right corner of the screen.

[SOLVED] My Date&Time indicator is no longer showing

I did restart Cinnamon, but to no avail.
I found this advice from 2014 to reinstall that indicator. If this is what I need to do, can someone confirm that the command lines apply to me with Linux Mint 19.1?

Thanks guys

It almost looks as if someone else has taken control over it. Is there anything I can do about it? Have a look Thanks guys P.S. I just realized t...
