Re: Offline Help
Update: Just found the issue, 'Help' item is ticked off in the menu editor, it's hidden. I don't know if installing Cinnamenu applet made the 'Help' disappear, or the default menu is hiding the 'Help' item by default, both are bad possibilities, it would be nice if someone that made a fresh install ...

Re: Offline Help
Ssspace, I will repeat my questions, 2 of which you have not answered at all: "Have you tried the "Help" menus which are available in most graphical applications?" I guess the answer is no. You have not even tried in a single application, like e.g. in "System Monitor" ...

Re: Offline Help
Hello, ssspace. Have you tried the "Help" menus which are available in most graphical applications, before posting your suggestion? Have you tried the "Help" menu item under [Menu] => Accessories, before posting your suggestion? Have you tried the man terminal command, before po...

Offline Help
If you have connection/wifi issues you won't be able to access documentation or any kind of help. The user should be able to get help offline too.

Wifi adapter stopped working but after 2 reboots is working again?!
I booted LM 19, and wifi adapter(USB) was not working... but it's working, something about the USBs was not working because I connected a USB pendrive and nothing showed up on Nemo, it was not a problem with USBs because my mouse and keyboard were working. I rebooted with a Ubuntu ISO pendrive to ch...

Re: Impossible to watch Netflix and Prime Video in Full HD (1080p) or 4K?
This article says you can use a extension https://www.ghacks.net/2018/02/12/watch-netflix-in-1080p-on-linux-and-unsupported-browsers/ but I don't like this idea, I think extensions have full access to your webpages and some users are saying that it works for a while and then it doesn't work anymore....

Re: Impossible to watch Netflix and Prime Video in Full HD (1080p) or 4K?
To test the resolution on Netflix, open any video or series and press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+D , it says x720 here, for Firefox and Chrome, so it's locked at 720p SD quality, I'm using LM 19.

Impossible to watch Netflix and Prime Video in Full HD (1080p) or 4K?
I did some research and looks like it's impossible to watch video streaming services Netflix and Prime Video in Full HD 1080p using Linux, I think that they cap the video quality at 720p(SD), 4K doesn't work either from what I've been reading. Re: Want to switch to 64b and keep my home dir
I don't know, but if I were you I would create a backup, just copy and paste your files or the entire /home to a thumb drive or external drive, install Linux Mint 64 and copy and paste back again to /home.

FPS game Xonotic available as a snap
If you are into FPS games check Xonotic snap, it's a fast-paced FPS like Nexuiz.
https://snapcraft.io/xonotic
As LM doesn't have snapd installed by default, open a terminal:
More info: https://www.xonotic.org/

Code: Select all
sudo apt install snapd

Re: Update Recommended Memory to 4 GB RAM
An alternative is to remove the "Minimum" and just leave the "Recommended" specs. When you use a software/game you want to know what you need to have a good experience, you don't want someone telling you "well, it runs but is slow, it takes 5 minutes to do that and it's very...

Re: Update Recommended Memory to 4 GB RAM
I think these numbers should be updated to be more realistic and prevent users from having a bad experience: - Minimum: 2 GB RAM - Recommended: 4 GB RAM I agree. Maybe you want to say that to the developers? They rarely use the forums. If you or someone could contact them that would be awesome, tha...

Update Recommended Memory to 4 GB RAM
You recommend 2 GB RAM to comfortably use Linux Mint Cinnamon 19: https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3597 System requirements: 1GB RAM (2GB recommended for a comfortable usage). Some data: My free -h command outputs (sum of used+shared memory): boot + terminal opened = 700 MB Firefox with 1 tab (Linux Mi...

If you see videos reviews, blog posts and read the comments you will see that some users that don't like how Mint looks, I thought most people knew about this, looks like I was wrong, that's life. You made an unsupported claim, and you persist in refusing and neglecting to back it up, then you try ...
