Well, not all the artworks. But yes, it seems that the damage was much smaller than it could have been, which is a great relief!
You are right! Should have taken more care to write "most of the artworks".

Re: Notre Dame de Paris: a tragic loss for mankind

Looks like that most of the building is still intact and the artworks had been removed prior to reparation work on the roof. So the dimension of the catastrophe is not what it seemed to be initially.

Re: Making back up

How to backup linux systems

Personally, I use Timeshift for system backup and Grsync for backing up data in my /home. Occasionally, I make partition images with gnome-disk-utility.

Re: [SOLVED] Disable bluetooth at startup on Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon.

sudo systemctl disable bluetooth.service Didn't even disable already active bluetooth that I could have done with 2 clicks right away. Useless. sudo systemctl disable --now bluetooth.service would have done it. For an "stronger disablement": sudo systemctl mask --now bluetooth.service disable NAME....

Might be the best thing you ever done, when it comes to Linux, that is.

You could try restoring your repositories to default in Software Sources and then run the Update Manager again and see if it helps.
If it doesn't, try the following command:

Code: Select all

sudo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*
And next:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
Hope this helps!

Re: Any way to tell update manager to do this?

Have been running the 4.15.x kernels successfully for quite some time. I would make sure to having installed another well functioning kernel from 4.15-series to have another good one in reserve beside your current one. Next, I would uninstall all the kernels from 4.4-series: Update Manager > View >...

Has the procedure changed?
Have you added the PPA to your repositories? If not, run the following commands one by one in a terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:teejee2008/ppa
sudo apt-get update
Next, install Aptik:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install aptik aptik-gtk
Hope this helps!

Re: Installing mint xfce on a ASUS Zen book UX21E notebook

It is possible to install 2 or more OS:es on a SSD, space permitting. With 10G on your E-drive, I am afraid you might run out of space rather sooner than later: System requirements: 1GB RAM (2GB recommended for a comfortable usage). 15GB of disk space (20GB recommended). https://blog.linuxmint.com/?...

So everything appears to go ok, but no boot menu upon restarting just W10.
It's kind of an odd issue. Let's see what other forumers can come up with.
