You could try restoring your repositories to default in Software Sources and then run the Update Manager again and see if it helps.
If it doesn't, try the following command:

Code: Select all

sudo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*
And next:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
Hope this helps!

Re: Any way to tell update manager to do this?

Have been running the 4.15.x kernels successfully for quite some time. I would make sure to having installed another well functioning kernel from 4.15-series to have another good one in reserve beside your current one. Next, I would uninstall all the kernels from 4.4-series: Update Manager > View >...

Has the procedure changed?
Have you added the PPA to your repositories? If not, run the following commands one by one in a terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:teejee2008/ppa
sudo apt-get update
Next, install Aptik:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install aptik aptik-gtk
Hope this helps!

Re: Installing mint xfce on a ASUS Zen book UX21E notebook

It is possible to install 2 or more OS:es on a SSD, space permitting. With 10G on your E-drive, I am afraid you might run out of space rather sooner than later: System requirements: 1GB RAM (2GB recommended for a comfortable usage). 15GB of disk space (20GB recommended). https://blog.linuxmint.com/?...

Re: problem to update system

Go to menu and type software ... and launch it from there.
Or I guess you could runmintsourcesin a terminal as well to launch it from there.

You could go to Software Sources: Additional repositories and uncheck/remove the entry for Spotify.

So everything appears to go ok, but no boot menu upon restarting just W10.
It's kind of an odd issue. Let's see what other forumers can come up with.

Re: No grub after clean LM19 install in dual booter (prev LM18.3 ok)

Another thing that comes to mind is that once you boot into Mint, you could run:

Code: Select all

sudo update-grub
and reboot afterwards.
Maybe this can help.

You might need to go into BIOS and change the boot order.

Re: Difficulty in backing up to an external hard disk

1) On lost+find directory: Each file system has its own lost+found folder, so you’ll find one on each hard drive or partition. That means you’ll find a lost+found folder in the root directory at /lost+found, for example. If you have other partitions mounted, you’ll find a lost+found folder on each o...

Re: Upgrading without dvd or usb

Though I haven't used it myself, I have read some users talking about Plop Boot Manager which allows booting from USB flash drives (DVD etc.) even if that is not supported by the system's BIOS: https://www.plop.at/en/bootmanager/intro.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wePIB40ergo https://www.yout...

Re: Wine Problems

You are welcome! Unfortunately, I am not good at all with specific Wine issues (I don't even have it installed). The issue with APT and repositories was a different matter. I think you would need assistance from forum members who actually use Wine. In the meantime have a look at the following links:...
