Re: mint 17.3 to mint 18.3 with seperate home and boot partitions

Mount /Home but not allow to format /Home as opposed to "do not use this partition"? Correct! I want to put mint 18.3 on the / partition and not format or change the Home/ partition so I can keep the apps I have installed . Is this possible or feasible? If I am not mistaken, the /home contains, apa...

Re: mint 18.3 mate-panel applets missing

Hi danneauxs, I am not that well wandered in MATE but I took a quick look into Synaptic and I found a couple of packages which can be relevant to the issue at hand. Namely mate-applets and libmate-panel-applet-4-1 . Have a look at them and decide if it is worthwhile to reinstall these and see if it ...

Re: Firejailing Falkon browser: how can I make it work?

Hi catweazel, Thanks for the reply! The profile I used first was linked to by Fred Barclay just a bit further down the same page so I tested it first. Now I have tried the "new" profile but unfortunately, I get more or less the same error messages as above. Something is not quite right and I cannot ...

Re: Exremely slow boot time on 18.3 Sylvia

Hi Ivasan, Thanks for posting the outputs. They look ok. If I am not mistaken, errors=remount-ro , means basically that if there are any errors when mounting the root partition it will be mounted "read-only" and not "read-write". We can very well rule out the possibility of a "misplaced" swap. Cheers

Re: Dual boot with E: partition on C: drive

You might want to have a look at A beginner’s guide to disks and disk partitions in Linux There’s no C or D drive in Linux. There are equivalents, but when you come across a reference to a hard drive in Linux, you’ll typically see something like /dev/sda, /dev/sdb, /dev/sdc, … etc. The “dev” is shor...

I can't install those packages needed to enable the Edit button: Me too, I noticed the problem after installing Shutter in Ubuntu 18.04. Those packages seem not to be included in Bionic's repositories ( see bug report in launchpad ) and consequently absent in Tara. I haven't tried the QuickFix desc...
