It's my first LMDE experience since yesterday and for now it looks smooth and I was wondering to have in the future xfce DE because it's more customizable and not resource hungry..

Boot priority for that specific disk was most likely set to Vanessa before installing Elsie and Elsie installer couldn't ever change that. LMDE Elsie merely installed Grub in EFI/ESP partition alongside Vanessa's. It was up to you to go to your UEFI settings and change the boot priority from "...
