Re: Sharing file between Linux and Windows - Best Practices

What about an online cloud storage provider? Most cloud storage porviders have an application for both Windows and Linux. Else you could setup your own server using an old(er) computer. And how about a NAS?

Hi,

Your system overview is a bit shortlisted. can you do this for us:
  • open a terminal
  • type the following command: sudo inxi -Nn
  • copy the output and paste it here
This information will tell us more about your network cards, etc.

Hi, You updated the Nvidia driver, right? How did you do it? Manually or via a PPA? Or using the Driver manager menu? And can you do this for us: open a terminal type the following terminal command: sudo inxi -Fxz . Keep in mind that you need to type your password in the terminal and when typing you...

Apologies if this is in the wrong place (.....) with Linux Lite installed. basically yes it is the wrong place. You ask a question bout Linux Lite on the Linux Mint forum. Both are different distro's but under the hood they are both based on the same distro. Linux Lite has it's own forum, just clic...

Can you please post more detailed information about your desktop system (specifications). Posting the brand and model can be sufficient as well. Without any detailed info about your system we can only make guesses instead of helping you correctly. Neither of us owns a magical crystal ball ;)

Any advice on making things more lightweight? 1) use a lightweight desktop environment like Mate or, even better, Xfce. 2) Avoid using heavy applications. Look for lightweight solutions instead. 3) Clean your system now and then. Also make sure that the installed applications are set to clean their...
