Re: impossible to update

i've reinstalled the system once again, hopefully for the last time Install also the kernel I told you, it is always useful to have an alternative choice. i have the kernel 4.10.0-38 installed and the kernel 4.13.0-32 as "active". shouldn't i get the latest one (4.13.0-16) instead of the 4.4.0-21?

alright, now it worked and i can write on that disk too. thank you very much!
hopefully future linux versions will be as easy as the mac os is for us ignorants.

by the way for anyone who could benefit from it: you can use 1password on linux via the chrome extension called "1password x"

Re: first little problems with mint, please help

i've named it "Disco1" instead of your "Storage", but when i arrive at "gksudo pluma /etc/fstab" it asks for my password, i type it and nothing happens When you enter your password in the terminal, you will see nothing displayed on the screen. This is for security, so that no one can read your pass...

Re: first little problems with mint, please help

I was hoping it would have been mounted first, but it's okay. By the way, sorry for my being so slow to respond. Got a bangin' headache right now, so hopefully this makes sense. :? If I remember correctly, you're trying to access your new 1TB WDC drive, but it's giving you permission errors. So, ba...

Re: first little problems with mint, please help

You can create a permanent mount point for the partition on the 1TB drive (sdb1). First create a mount point. For example, if I want my mount point to be named "Storage" I would open a terminal and enter the command: sudo mkdir /mnt/Storage It does not have to be /mnt/Storage. It can be in your /ho...
