Adding a menu item to Nemo alt-drag context menu?

Just as it is possible to add a menu item to the right-click context menu by making a .nemo_action file, is there a way of writing a .nemo_action file to have the command appear in the context menu which appears when one drags a file using the alt-key and the left mouse button? Ever since it became ...

Re: [SOLVED] Adding right-click context-menu items?

But I have to warn you, I have never heard of any means to modify the middle click button contextual menu. When you say you have never heard of it. do you mean in Nemo, or in the case of any file manager? It's odd if it turns out one cannot do it. It seems like such an obvious feature to add. Even ...

Re: Adding right-click context-menu items?

I tried the left+right drag, and it works like you said! But I prefer the alt+left button, I think. In the case of the latter, you can press either first, and it still works. But with the former, you have to do ALL three things at the same time, or it will fail! Either opening the right-button conte...

Re: Show all file sizes in kB?

Thanks so much for your help, phd21! That seems like more what I was looking for. Maybe I am being foolish. Maybe I am just too old to change my ways anymore. I just don't understand why these types of options aren't in Nemo. I had gotten the impression that Linux was based on a principle of configu...

Re: [SOLVED] Adding right-click context-menu items?

Great, thank you so much! I will try it! The middle button is a bit awkward, because on my mouse, it's not a button but a wheel! And on my laptop, there IS no middle button! But right and left at the same time, you say? Is there anywhere one can change these "hotkey"-combinations to map them onto ot...

Re: Adding right-click context-menu items?

Thank you so much! That's great. I tried that stuff with the CRC, and it worked just great! That's a relief. I'd like to ask whether there is also a way of enabling right-click dragging a file to a destination? One of my favourite time-saving things which was introduced to Windows at some point (I t...

Re: Show all file sizes in kB?

Sorry for not responding to your replies. I have been so busy with reinstalling Windows 7 and all my programs and fiddling with the settings to make them the way they I used to have them. It may be that I can get used to seeing the file sizes shown like that, but I am not sure I want to. I like look...

[SOLVED] Adding right-click context-menu items?

Hello! I have just installed Linux Mint CInnamon on a USB, and am trying to explorer and decide if I can switch to this from Windows at some point. I have a general question about Linux GUIs: I am okay about learning about using the command line interface for some things, as I already like to automa...

Show all file sizes in kB?

Hello! I have just installed Linux Mint Cinnamon and am trying to make it fit my tastes. I don't know anything about Linux. I think it's a beatiful, neat system, but I am a bit puzzled that I can't get the filesizes to show up in a single format. I would like to show sizes in kilobytes, like in Wind...
