For what it is worth, forcing SMB browsing to SMB 1.0 does not work for me. I still cannot browse the "Windows Network". That said, all my workstations are on the latest version of Windows 10, with SMB V1 disabled. Typing in smb://srv1 works though.

I personally used a different approach - I enabled the experimental repo (which happens to have 6.2.1 instead of 6.1.5 in the repo, which would be considered "fresh" for Windows or Mac) and let it update to the latest version. Just to jump on the bandwagon here, I've been noticing similar issues. What is interesting is that if I connect HDMI before my system boots it is OK, but if I connect it after it boots it tends to mess up.
