no sound in chrome
Since the update to chrome version 47.0.2526.106 (64-bit), I have no sound on youtube. Videos play, but no sound. There is no problem in firefox. When I look in chrome://plugins/, I see Adobe Flash Player - Versie: 20.0.0.228 in /opt/google/chrome/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so, I see the plugin i...
Re: mdm
Thank you for the replies.
But I have a functional system again now, by removing mdm completely and replacing it with gdm.
I don't want to edit config files, risking a black screen again at startup.
Don't feel like fixing something that works.

mdm
So the update to cinnamon 2.0 in mint 13 was a little messy ... I had a custom theme in mdm, that was apparently incompatible with the update package, so mdm was broken, with the message that "clouds.xx" was giving the problem. I followed clem's advice: go to a console via ctrl-alt-F1 sudo...

Re: Conky dissapears when clicking on "Show desktop" button
Hi, I installed nadia yesterday. Today i installed conky and it shows perfectly but when i click on the "Show desktop" button it disappears like any other window. I've tried setting the own_window_type to norma, desktop, override, any of those work. I can confirm this. Same problem here.

Wifi problems?
TIA

Nevermind ....
I copied Ikey's script again in a new file, executed the commands and everything is working now.
My fault, obviously

Re: HOWTO: Improve Font Rendering in LMDE
I have a script "fixfonts.sh" in my home directory. In a terminal, I entered the 2 commands in Ikey's first post: * chmod +x ./fixfonts.sh * ./fixfonts.sh The first command did nothing, the second gave me the errors "rule xxx: command not found". So I think I followed instruction...

Re: Smallish Distro Needed.
I would go for puppy linux.
I've been using it on a PIII with 320 MB RAM, it's very light weight and usable.
Ubuntu distro's, even based on XFCE of fluxbox, will be sluggish.
