I'm using a Cowon Plenue D. Really easy to drag and drop files to/from the device (basically shows up like an external drive, just unmount/safely remove like you would a drive). Happy to answer more specifics, just ask.

Re: Help: install LM on Macbook2,1
Not sure how to dual boot OSX and Mint, but I was able to install 18.3 on my old 2.1 Macbook. I used the 32bit Mate version and burned the ISO to a DVD and booted from it. Worked well until I had CPU overheating issues (nothing to do with Mint, just the thermal paste on the CPU and the fan was dying...

Re: Linux Mint or Ubuntu
Someone with more knowledge than myself will hopefully chime in. but you should just be able to copy everything in your Home folder to a thumb drive/external hard drive. then just copy it over to your Home folder in Mint. Out of curiosity what is it about Ubuntu you're not happy with, or do you just...

Re: Mint 19 Cinnamon: SSD for OS and HDD for storage?
As others have said, this is totally doable (the machine I'm using has that setup), and actually makes a lot of sense- you can reinstall/upgrade your OS without touching your data, you can upgrade to a larger hard drive pretty easy if you run out of space, and you can recover from a catastrophic dri...

<SOLVED> Swap partition necessary in 19?
Just curious, is it necessary to have a swap partition with a new install of "Tara"? I just saw that the new Ubuntu base uses a swap file instead of a separate partition. I made a swap partition with my new istall but now I'm wondering if I can just delete it and expand the root partition....

Re: Best way move/copy HOME to different partition for reinstallation
If you're just installing a new SSD for your root partition, you should be able to install from the live usb without changing the home partition. When it gives you the option to "erase all" or "something else" select "something else". Then just make your root and swap p...
