Getting a positively ancient ZTE phone Driver working (This is pre-Systemd levels of old)

After reading the debug logs, it turns out that this thing is so old that the latest supported version was Ubuntu 13.04... which is pre-systemd... I was wondering if anyone could help me ...

Creating a Total System Backup?

Basically, I was hoping that I could (somehow) create a total system backup that I would be able to reinstall on my system without too much trouble. I want to do this since I want to move to another distro (Sorry, but I stuck with Mint for 6 months, you do a WONDROUS job guys)! I would feel a lot mo...

Re: Multiple Issues with Cinnamon (Sorry for undescriptive Title)

But will that cause issues? I heard that installing multiple Window Managers can cause problems...

And also, will it uninstall cleanly?

bzip2 is INCREASING the size of archives when compressing!

Hey everyone. I have a 42 megabyte input .deb, that we will call file.deb. However, when I run

Code: Select all

bzip2 -kv file.deb
The file ends up 43 megabytes in size. I don't know what other info I can give on this matter, so just ask if you need something else.

:D

Steam Freeze Up

Hey guys. So, I noticed that, for whatever reason, my copy of Steam has stopped working. When I launch it outside the terminal, nothing happens. When I launch it inside on, I get this: steven@steven-GL753VE:~$ steam Running Steam on linuxmint 19 64-bit STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically Pins up-...

Just to clarify, you had the exact same issue, right? With that particular steam error?

Linux Mint 19 nVidia Driver 396

Anybody know how to install this one? I was following instructions from here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/blob/proton_3.7/PREREQS.md but when I try to run sudo apt install nvidia-driver-396 it gives me this: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information...
