The reason I used /media/root is because that's what it said to do in the Ubuntu Help Forum. Did you click the link that I provided in my original post? Click here.

The link you gave me about UUID has nothing to do with my problem that I can tell.

I get a similar problem, where when I try booting my usb key I get a message that reads, "boot error", and that's it. No go.
