Bit the bullet today and upgraded to 19.2 on my main machine. Smooth as. Took about 5 mins. Perfect! Love Mint.

Office for weird custom Word forms I often need to edit.
Have you tried WPS or FreeOffice? I use the former when LibreOffice let's me down with complex docx. formatting.

I had the same issue just the other day. I selected US keyboard but a fresh install reverted to UK. Check keyboard layout from the log-in page?

Re: Tango Icons do not change all folders

Thanks for the respone secureIT When I can, as in this instance, I install directly from xfce-look using the install button with the ocs-url plug-in. It is indeed the gnomey folders which haven't taken the icon theme but, after having done some more research, I've discovered there's a Tango2 icon se...

[solved] Tango Icons do not change all folders

Every other icon set I choose changes all the icons and folders. But I really want to use Tango. Why does it not change all the folders? Is there something I can do to rectify this?

Xfce 19.1

Thanks.

Re: Whats different about debian mint?

When you start using it Debian based distros are far easier to maintain and use than anything based on Ubuntu. If you don't believe that have a look at MX Linux or Antix. I keep getting tempted by MX Linux and each time after a week or so of use something breaks and I end up re-installing Mint Xfce...

Re: Linux Mint 19.2 “Tina” Xfce released!

Just installed it on my second machine over MX Linux 18.3 after it refused to boot after installing nvidia drivers.

No such problem with Mint!

Quicklauncher & terminal start commands

Hi. I'd like to utilise the Quicklauncher app on Mint Xfce 19.1 but am having trouble adding executable icons. As far as I understand I need to put the name of the name of the application I want to launch in the 'nom' column and the terminal command to start the application in the 'commande' column....

The only reason I'll be leaving Mint is because I'll get bored of her stability, which is also the same reason for coming back. I assume that's what happened to you.
Ha, ha. That's me :)

Re: How to remove Cinnamon Mint from Cinnamon/Xfce Mint dual boot / dual drive set-up?

Thanks, I was pretty sure I needed to update grub as well.

I'll aim to do it during a quiet period.

Much appreciated.

This happened to me yesterday, actually. I ran Update Manager (search for it in the menu) twice and it did the job.

Re: How to remove Cinnamon Mint from Cinnamon/Xfce Mint dual boot / dual drive set-up?

Nothing? I figured this would be quite an easy for many experienced users.

How about Ubuntu Boot Repair? I've installed this simply to look at the GUI. Would deleting / formatting the drive with Cinnamon on and then running Boot repair do the job?

[solved] How to remove Cinnamon Mint from Cinnamon/Xfce Mint dual boot / dual drive set-up?

Hi all. I've got 2 internal hard drives in my Lenovo H50-55 desktop: 1 x 1 TB (original) & 1 x 250 GB SSD (added a few months back). On the 1 TB drive is Cinnamon 19.1, on the 250 GB SSD I have Xfce 19.1 - which has replaced Cinnamon as my daily driver. I would now like to remove Cinnamon completely...

Re: [SOLVED] Screen tearing on LM 19 xfce edition

Nah, didn't work. :( Well, at least not as far as I know. When I rebooted it would only boot to terminal, not the desktop. Fortunately I had the presence of mind to use the sudo rm command and get back into my desktop. Ho hum. I really should stop messing around with my main working machine like thi...

Yes, and indeed I've got AMD in my Lenovo H50-55. So that's something completely different again, right? :(

Re: [SOLVED] Screen tearing on LM 19 xfce edition

Hi, pcpunk. Yes, I've seen that. But it's not as decipherable (or rather simply copy & pasteable) as @DAMIEN1307's post. Looking at that, and then looking at this link, would the following two terminal commands do the job? sudo mkdir -v /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf echo -e 'Section "Device"\n ...
