Re: rhythmbox:how to speed up playback?

My playlists are in RB, I don't want to switch to another app.

Also I'm not interested in modifying the audio files to play faster or slower. I want to control that during playback. Media player has that feature ([ or ]).

rhythmbox:how to speed up playback?

I don't see any option to that under menu Control. There is a plugin for Ubuntu, but does not seem compatible. What options are there? $ rhythmbox --version rhythmbox 3.4.2 $ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:smcnam/rbpitch-release HTTP Error 404: Not Found Cannot add PPA: ''This PPA does not support bion...

Yeah, old Mac. Not sure about crossover. I need to transfer only from Macro to Linux.

And what about DuckTo?

How to access Mac's public folder from Linux with an ethernet connection?

The two computers are connected using a CAT5 cable I've set `File sharing:on` in Mac. Mac's Network>Ethernet status is 'connected'. Linux' wired signal is either 'connecting...' or 'cable unplugged' (even when it is plugged) What would I do next? PS: I tried Dukto, neither computer shows in the othe...

Display message on login windows

Hello,

I figured out how to display a message on the screen saver, I would like the same for the logging window (the message being a way to contact me should the laptop get lost), but haven't found it in the settings. Hoping someone can make a suggestion.

VLC capture: no sound

I have VLC set up to work as a camera+sound recorder as shown in the screenshots. It does record the video, not the sound. I have made sure 1) Sound > Input does get a signal 2) to Turn on sound during playback. Other problems: - During capture (in this case recording), there is no 'live' output, on...

cd don't take wildcards no more?

I just upgraded from 18.3 to 19.1. Now I get this unprecedented behavior: ~/Downloads $ ls install-tl-20190222 install-tl-unx.tar.gz $ cd ins* bash: cd: too many arguments But this works: $ cd install-tl-2019* There should be no ambiguity using the first version as `install-tl-unx.tar.gz` not a dire...

Re: Resizing ntfs/ext4 partitions

Resizing exFAT from Windows also not possible. In that case, unfortunately, it looks like there's no other choice but to offload content to another drive/partition, delete the exFAT partition and create a new partition using a filesystem that's better supported. Indeed, or just create and use a new...

Re: Resizing ntfs/ext4 partitions

Marziano, your advice could have cost me the loss of data. You could have admitted it, instead you prefer to shift the blame. It's a very obvious breach of ethics.

Re: Resizing ntfs/ext4 partitions

Assuming you still have your Windows dual boot (is that what sdb1 is?), boot into Windows and resize there. If the default Disk Management won't allow you to move the partition, use a 3rd party program (e.g. MiniTool Partition Wizard, EaseUS Partition Master, Acronis Disk Director, etc). Resizing e...

Re: Resizing ntfs/ext4 partitions

Your screenshot doesn't show any info on used/unused space. Rush to judgement. Notice the exclamation mark. Here's what is says: "Unable to read the contents of this file system! Because of this some operations may be unavailable.", which is probably not surprising given that it is unmounted. The s...
