Re: Wifi stopped working after updating

The Kernel has been removed. I rebooted to make sure it was still working and it was. Thank you so much for all your help.

Re: Wifi stopped working after updating

That seems to have worked. Now how do I remove that newer kernel so it doesn't go back into it again?

Go back to your previous kernel:

Is there another way to get to the grub menu? Every time I keep rebooting I get a System76 logo page with encryption password then it boots right into the linux mint login screen.

Re: Wifi stopped working after updating

Also, updated a couple of days ago means I ran the updates that were recommended via the Update Manager.

Although I did do the kernel update today or at least that's what it said but the wifi broke before on the 14th of March.

Here's a screen shot of the updates.

Re: Wifi stopped working after updating

The kernel update was suggested through the Update Manager. I didn't install a kernel from anywhere else that I'm aware of.

Wifi stopped working after updating <SOLVED>

Hi all, I have a Galago Pro laptop and installed the sysem76 driver from their website when I bought it because the wifi and other hardware functions weren't working. That fixed the issue. However, I updated a couple of days ago and since then my wifi is no longer working. Would appreciate any knowl...

Re: Dvd's won't play

It worked with the setting the region code. The first disc I tried was just a bit dirty which is why it was playing weird. Thank you all for all your help! ^_^

Re: Dvd's won't play

Setting the region code to 1 seems to have helped. I tried to play it was kind of weird but it could be the drive or the disc at least now I have something working!

Thanks for all your suggestions! ^_^

Re: Dvd's won't play

I didn't recently relocate. In the past, I had taken out the dvd drive to install a second hard drive in there but other than that nothing has changed apart from putting the drive back in. Also, they are not blurays as I haven't upgraded to those yet. The idea was to digitize them if possible in cas...

Re: Dvd's won't play

I think I might have figured out the problem. I tried the makemkv as you suggested and as I was trying to get it to work it kept saying "ILLEGAL REQUEST:MEDIA REGION CODE IS MISMATCHED TO LOGICAL UNIT REGION' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_03_1.VOB' at offset '4096'" So it seems it could be t...

Re: Dvd's won't play

They worked fine a few years back (if memory serves me well) in a linux distribution I think it might've been Ubuntu. I did recently get an external dvd drive to try out but it's not working either. I can see the files when I look at the disc it just doesn't want to read them. I use VLC as my media ...

Re: Dvd's won't play

I had already installed udftools and it still didn't work. I also tried to play cd's and they worked fine so I don't think it's a hardware issue. Here are the results from the terminal you requested. Dvd's won't play <SOLVED>

Hello all, I've been using Linux for several years now and can usually find workarounds for whatever problems I have by searching online and the forums. However, this issue has me puzzled. I'm using a dvd drive that's built in my laptop and I can't play dvds that I once could play in the past. I've ...
