Hi smurphos,
Here is a screenshot showing my actual system tray and the installation of the Recent Documents applet.

System tray icons not displaying
Hi, Running Mint 19.1 with Cinnamon. The Recent Documents and Notifications icons do not display unless I'm in Panel Edit mode. Restarting Cinnamon does not fix the problem even temporarily. I've also delayed the Flatpak startup from 20 to 30 seconds. Any other fixes out there that I haven't found? ...

It is not. What I have installed is the latest version available for Maya I guess.

Re: Need help installing a desklet
Ah, that must be it. I have Cinnamon 1.4 installed. I have an Apples icon in my system Settings, and when I clik on Get More Applets it takes me to the Cinnamon Spices web site where I got the the weather desklet. So do I upgrade to Cinnamon 1.8 or is that not advisable with Maya?

Re: Need help installing a desklet
There is no Desklets icon in my System Settings window or any menu. I tried installing it using gDesklets, but it's not working.

Re: Need help installing a desklet
I'm running Maya (Mint v.13) so that install method must not be available.
I'm trying to run the Weather Desklet from the Spices web site: http://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/desklets

Need help installing a desklet
I downloaded the Weather Desklet from the Spices page and unzipped it into ~/.local/share/cinnamon/desklets per the instructions on the page. I had to create the desklets directory, btw. How do I launch it? I've installed gDesklets, but I can't add it to that app. What am I missing? I'm running 32-b...

Re: Deskbar replacement?
Hi folks. I'm gonna resurrect this post to see if anyone has found a decent replacement for Deskbar. I really miss it. I'm considering moving from Cinnamon to XFCE (noticeable performance increase!) and I was seeing if I could get everything the way I want it when I remembered Deskbar. Catfish is fi...

Firefox 25.0.1 - Where's Australis? [SOLVED]
The latest FF version came down to my laptop this morning. I don't see any difference in the appearance. Was this supposed to happen only under Windows or Mac? I'm using Maya w/Cinnamon.

Re: Mint 13 LTS iso update and ubuntu 12.04.2
Good question about the language packs. :) Also, (I dont think his was mentioned yet) Canonical announced yesterday that non-LTS releases will be supported for only 9 months instead of 18. The likelihood of x.x.2 releases for non-LTS versions will be reduced to pretty much zero. My guess, anyway. St...

Re: Deskbar replacement?
I used AWN before Cinnamon, but that's not what Deskbar is. Deskbar was a Gnome applet that searched your menus, commands, files, a dictionary, and several other sources (internet included) all at the same time. It was very fast too. A nifty little lightweight applet. Gnome Do, on the other hand, is...

Anyone know of a replacement for the Deskbar panel applet in Cinnamon? Gnome-do is available but I prefer not to use Mono.

Hi dresden, Did you ever get this problem resolved? I'm having the same problem as of yesterday. I received a lot updates, but none of them asked if I wanted to change any config files. Steve UPDATE: I just realized that an xorg update was contained in the updates I received this week. I'm pretty su...

Gmount-iso read-only mounts
Having a problem with Gmount-iso under Maya Cinnamon. I specify the .iso file I want to mount, and then i specify the mount location (I've used the default /media location as well as a folder in my /home directory). When I click the mount button I get an error saying the directory is read-only. An i...
