I have been using Linux Mint for some time, after determining, at first, that I had a problem with a hard disk drive and replacing it I have not gotten one single error message....

Mac/Apple fonts
Has anybody been able to use Mac fonts on their Mint machine? I have been getting into doing pre-press work for a few people in my area and it would be nice to use them in Mint. Maybe Mint won't have some of the incompatibility problems with some of the printers that Macs have with some fonts.

I've been using Mint for a couple of months and the only thing I have been having a consistant problem with is getting Mint to see the storage media, "SD," on the camera. It's got me stumped if I put the secure digital in an adapter one of those funny little see all media expansion bays it...

Google Earth
What I did to finally get a good and stable install of Google Earth was to download the .bin from Google and install it through the console. It was fast and quite simple to do and, of course, very stable.

Yup it sees it. It just doesn't seem to want to fuction. It was working just fine a few days ago. I should explain that I unplugged and plugged back in just before it quit. Actually Mint sees everything that is on the laptop. Another note I have Mint installed on an IBM, not Lenovo, R40. I have been...

It just happened to me. After all the bragging I did to my friends about Mint. I still like it. I lost my ability to wifi in pretty much the same way. It just stopped working. It isn't the PCMCIA Card it works in Windows. Any suggestions on how to restore WiFI? I think my troubles are connected with...

Have you tried using the Windows driver? Sometimes you also have to tell the machine what SSID to look for. Is there an Icon in the tray? If so click it once then type in the name of the network. I personally had to type in the name of my wireless network before it would connect. Also Mint saw the P...

A few ideas for Celena
Truthfully Cassandra is so close to the perfect OS as it stands. The only thing I can think of is a server edition. I would really like to set the office up with a good mail server/file server/sql setup incorporated into it's own little intranet. I work for a prepress company and it would save a ton...

On another machine I have had some problems with fsck because I forced it to check a mounted volume. I can't seem to find out how yo unmount a volume. What I used to use for OS X dodesn't seem to work and the man pages aren't much help. I was thinking that I should backup my sda volume. Is there any...

Everytime I try to download and install Google Earth on from Software and Applications on the Linux Mint Portal I seem to get a message that my APT is broken and has been repaired since my last install. It only happens with Google Earth. So far that is my only complaint about Linux Mint. But it woul...
