Re: [SOLVED] Bluetooth "br-connection-page-timeout"
I had the same problem with my Huawei Matebook D6 laptop and my Galaxy Buds live earbuds. Trusting / untrusting, pairing/unpairing, rebooting did not work. Nothing worked. Until I deleted and the damn devices -all of them- and re-searched nearby devices anew. That worked. I double HappyWarrior's opi...

failure to recover from suspend mode
Hi. I have a Matebook D16 laptop with Linux Mint 21.1 When I suspend the laptop, it fails to recover. The failure rate is 100%. Otherwise, the laptop works like a charm, booting is always fast and trouble free, as long as it is not from suspend mode. I tried journalctl -b -1 but the log is huge, and...

Re: viber BS again
I meant would it be possible to install a previous version by finding it on the repos, not by finding a previous .deb file on the website - I already know this way and viber does not offer previous versions in .deb files.
Isn't there some command or something?

Re: viber BS again
Agreed about the crappy buggy software. Despite that, viber IS hosted on linux mint repos. This means that there must be a previous version somewhere to be restored. Is there a way to rollback an application from trusted repository sources - perhaps using apt or something? Learning how to do this wo...

Re: Opinion: Fatpack is too fat!...
I NEVER install flatpaks. I just ignore them. There is no way i would install something 50x larger, even if I needed it. Moreover, I've never ever needed to install something that was only in flatpak. At the very least, appimages are also available (and quite smaller in size). My installation partit...

Re: Is there a decent video player for Linux ? (v2)
I like SMPlayer as it is very configurable and allows for multiple subtitles to be displayed. Plays anything I throw at it. OK but even if that works, I ll have though spent 5 years to find a decent video player for Linux ... and that's the fact, thanks though but undestand I am fed up to see that ...

Hi everyone. Viber has turned into a piece of crap over the last few versions. After this problem with viber menu https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=379658 which for me is not solved by any means. Backup and restore panel launchers [SOLVED]
After painstaking research, I figured out a solution to the problem and describing a solution for other people to find. The cinnamon settings are saved in an internal database. You can see them with the command: dconf dump / > your_file_name.txt and then open the text file created. There you can see...

Backup and restore panel launchers [SOLVED]
Hi vimes666, thanks for answering. I found the launchers are indeed saved in ~/.local/share/applications, and I can copy them anywhere on the system. However, changes to these launchers don't seem to affect the panels in any way. Adding or removing launchers from /.local/share/applications does not ...

Backup and restore panel launchers [SOLVED]
update: I found that I can quickly add the launchers to the panels from the start menu by just dragging them (custom launchers can be found in "other" submenu). So the problem will be solved if I can just restore my start menu items, instead those from the panel. So an alternative question...

Re: Can't setup applets in panel using settings
In the link you provide, someone tells the author that the guide might be outdated. And that was 10 years ago. Why would you even need gsettings? Just install chrome (chromium is a lot better IMO), right-click the firefox icon, select remove. Find chrome in the menu, right click on it, select "...

Re: How to install Brother DCP-110C Scanner/Priner?
Google translate ftw, Russian language is no longer a limitation :) I see now. Your printer / scanner is different than mine (I have the HL-L2350DW printer and ADS 2400N scanner) and the drivers are also different. For some reason, your driver installation program needed to download the package &quo...

Re: How to install Brother DCP-110C Scanner/Priner?
n0body_special kindly suggested a solution to my problem which starts with removing the IPP support from the computer. Before doing that I wonder will there be a way to reinstall the the IPP module should the need arise? I did as suggested following the instructions from easylinuxtipsproject.blogsp...

Re: Are there lingering issues using drivers for printers in "driverless" LM 21.1?
"Lingering issues"? For my Brother HL-L2350DW, "driverless printing" was a disaster. I came close to stop using linux because I couldn't get my printer to work at all. Many people tried to help me through this forum, and I thank them. Strangely enough, nobody suggested me to just...

Re: My "printers" come and go, rarely work
Brother drivers are ignored in Mint 21. No matter how much you struggle, they won't work properly, you have to disable IPP support if you want to use them. https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/brother-printers.html The implementation of "driverless printing" from Mint 21 on was a di...

Re: Brother HL-L2350DW does not like Mint 21
Ultimately it's the binaries that cause print jobs to vanish without a trace; they're 32-bit i386 executables. They fail to launch on LM 21.1 but the controlling script doesn't notice and reports success to its invoker (i.e. CUPS). I was able to resolve this by: # dpkg --add-architecture i386 # apt...
