Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

Oh, my bad, that connection is on 1.1.1.1, I got confused by the global DNS server definition which shouldn't even be there - resolv.conf should just point to 127.0.0.53 and the rest is handled by systemd internally. Your DNS servers should only be configured in the Network Manager connection setti...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

manualy changed resolv.conf in /ETC. There is clash between two DNS and 55 is not working That's an automatically generated file, it will be overwritten next boot at the latest. What did you change? Also all your output looks just fine, I don't see any issues at all. Your DNS is working correctly u...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

Well yes, the backup was in this thread so I wasn't worried about that. Losing connectivity even after restoring settings is weird though. Did you remember to restart NetworkManager.service? Or reboot? Also did the connection get established at all with my settings or what happened? Yes I restarted...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

Done everything you sad, and completely lost internet so I'm back on "M18.3C". I reverted your settings to backup I made,
restarted network manager but no honey. In "nmcli" everything looks good. Now I'm competently lost :( :?

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

I'm confused as well because what the logs say should not be possible in that case for all I know. Maybe post all your connection settings: That is now when eweryting is working. In min time I upgraded to "M19.1C" in hope that will help. Probably not yoss@gray:~$ sudo cat /etc/NetworkManager/system...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

Looks like the DHCP client couldn't retrieve an updated DHCP lease and thus reset your connection. Should be an issue with either the DHCP server or make sure you're not using MAC randomization on reconnect, it might de-auth you in that case. Or, as I mentioned earlier, just disable DHCP for that c...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

Now I found something in "syslog" which doesn't mind much to me. There is change of "dhcpcd" which I don't understend. And this "avahi-daemon" is whitening that "102" address which is unnecessary, but doesn't write GATEWAY address which is necessary. I cut what I mind is interesting part. Some light...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

I know but you keep bringing up the resolver (i.e. DNS). ;)
Isn't resolver duty to find GATEWAY address too? :?: I was sure that is.

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

Should be easy enough to check the logs when that happens to see what triggers the change. Are you sure it's not that you've got multiple connections configured but only one correctly and then other one gets activated due to an interruption or something? Bit of a silly scenario but I haven't really...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

in the results of your "ip address show" If you DO NOT SEE "eth0" or "wlan0," then the issue is probably NOT a DNS error. Yes that I was talking all the time. My problem is that something delete my GATEWAY address. When I flip the switch in network manager left and right internet is working till th...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

no i'm sorry i would not know where to begin to troubleshoot your issue since i have not had any experience with servers and pi devices used as servers. But it's not server or pi device problem, thats problem with mint 19 systemd-resolver or network manager. I'm missing the GATEWAY and when there i...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

i use /etc/hosts for adblocker as fallback only, and mainly i use browser extensions for that like ublock. or even privoxy i have setup for that but it's no use if i have ublock which pretty much does the same thing. took a long time to understand privoxy but i learned on my own since every forum i...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

Why I was using DHCP when playing with Orange.Pi is because I didn't know initial address of OP. So you set the Orange.Pi up as a DHCP server? Well, then you need to check the configuration there why it isn't doing that properly. Assuming you even want it to be the gateway. No just for first time t...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)

@trytip disable your pihole, does your system act like it's supposed to? i don't quite understand the use of Pi why do you use it? It doesn't mater what DNS I us. Always something delete my GATEWAY. I use Orange.Pi as add-blocker, but it doesn't mater without OP is same thing. Thanks to jump in :)
