Re: desktop, no icons
Unfortunately not. The last one is from February before upgrading to 21.3. I forgot to do the same after upgrading.
Log doesn't show anything unusual.

Re: Cinnamon menu is not resizable on 21.2
In LM21.2 the applet settings are stored in the applet's json file in ~/.config/cinnamon/spices/ But the settings for applets in older versions of Mint were stored in ~/.cinnamon/configs and it seems they stay there till the applet is reinstalled. Uninstalling the menu applet and reinstalling it sh...

Cinnamon menu is not resizable on 21.2 <SOLVED>by tonywhelan
Good day Today I upgraded my Mint 21.1 to 21.2. From what I see now, everything is in place and working as expected. But just one thing, my pet bug in Mint is still there. I can't resize the main menu. Probably something in my setup is preventing that. Can someone point the finger for direction in w...

Re: KVM for Windows to run from hard disc?
I feel that some of this effect may be caused by running the Windows program from the USB, and so the nub of my question is: can i set this up so that the VM runs Windows from the hard disk rather than from the USB, and if so, how do I so set it up? Thanks in hope of some help, Keith M Yes you can....

Re: Gmail and LM's version of claws-mail as a "Less Secure App"
I suspect there is an issue with your flatpak installation Try flatpak repair initially ~$ sudo flatpak repair Working on the system installation at /var/lib/flatpak Verifying flathub:runtime/org.kde.Platform/x86_64/5.15… Verifying deploy/runtime/org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default/x86_64/20.08… Ve...

Re: Gmail and LM's version of claws-mail as a "Less Secure App"
Mint Cinnamon 20.2. Neither did I expect differences in the repositories.Hmm... Which is your version of LM? Mine is 20.3 MATE. I didn't expect the repositories to offer different things, but apparently so...

Re: Gmail and LM's version of claws-mail as a "Less Secure App"
flatpak offers Claws-Mail v. 4.0.0-1. via the software manager. Where? I see only 3.17.5-2 and Flatpak 3.17.8. There is no v.4 Am I doing something wrong? When you open the software manager, click the Flatpak button and then search for Claws-Mail. I know that, only my manager show something differe...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)
Oh, my bad, that connection is on 1.1.1.1, I got confused by the global DNS server definition which shouldn't even be there - resolv.conf should just point to 127.0.0.53 and the rest is handled by systemd internally. Your DNS servers should only be configured in the Network Manager connection setti...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)
manualy changed resolv.conf in /ETC. There is clash between two DNS and 55 is not working That's an automatically generated file, it will be overwritten next boot at the latest. What did you change? Also all your output looks just fine, I don't see any issues at all. Your DNS is working correctly u...

Back on "M19C", manualy changed resolv.conf in /ETC. There is clash between two DNS and 55 is not working here is output yoss@gray:~$ systemctl status systemd-resolved ● systemd-resolved.service - Network Name Resolution Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/systemd-resolved.service; enabled...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)
Well yes, the backup was in this thread so I wasn't worried about that. Losing connectivity even after restoring settings is weird though. Did you remember to restart NetworkManager.service? Or reboot? Also did the connection get established at all with my settings or what happened? Yes I restarted...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)
Done everything you sad, and completely lost internet so I'm back on "M18.3C". I reverted your settings to backup I made,
restarted network manager but no honey. In "nmcli" everything looks good. Now I'm competently lost

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)
I'm confused as well because what the logs say should not be possible in that case for all I know. Maybe post all your connection settings: That is now when eweryting is working. In min time I upgraded to "M19.1C" in hope that will help. Probably not yoss@gray:~$ sudo cat /etc/NetworkMana...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)
Looks like the DHCP client couldn't retrieve an updated DHCP lease and thus reset your connection. Should be an issue with either the DHCP server or make sure you're not using MAC randomization on reconnect, it might de-auth you in that case. Or, as I mentioned earlier, just disable DHCP for that c...

Re: I hit the systemd wall (probably)
Now I found something in "syslog" which doesn't mind much to me. There is change of "dhcpcd" which I don't understend. And this "avahi-daemon" is whitening that "102" address which is unnecessary, but doesn't write GATEWAY address which is necessary. I cut wha...
