Re: Playing Bluray movies

Thank you for your respond. Yes I know Blu ray is not an option. Not only did I stopped trying to get Bluray working on Linux, but stopped completely with Linux. I have to disagree with ‘Linux doing things better than Windows’. In my opinion… it depends… If you know everything about Linux it’s great...

Re: Libre Office always has to repair files

It looks like I solved it. After the error message I did repair and copied the content of that file into a new file. I closed Libre Office and deleted the old file. Then I opened Libre Office again and got the error message again but this time I ignored insted of repair. When I open Libre Office now...

Re: Libre Office always has to repair files

One more thing to try before giving up entirely is to close all LO applications, then rename the configuration folder for LO by viewing all hidden files and folders in your file-manager by hitting Ctrl+H then right clicking on ~/.config/libreoffice. What is the configuration folder and where do I f...

Re: Libre Office always has to repair files

Thank you for all the feedback. After Mac OS and Windows I tried for about 1,5 year to make Linux Mint my main OS to work with. Now I am at a point where I have decided to quit with this system. Until I have a new computer to run Mac OS I have to use Linux and I hoped there was an easy solution with...

Re: Libre Office always has to repair files

Hello, When I open a file in Libre Office or even when I just open the software without opening a file, Libre Office always displays a window where it says it will try to recover the files like they where before the crash. Why do I always have these messages? It's so annoying. Have you ever run lib...

Re: Libre Office always has to repair files

is this, on every occasion, that you've opened Libre Office ?. - - did you power off your machine, in the interim time ?. It's always when I start LibreOffice (text or spreadsheet). It doesn't matter if it's a document or just opening the software, it always comes with a message about repairing the...

Libre Office always has to repair files

Hello,
When I open a file in Libre Office or even when I just open the software without opening a file, Libre Office always displays a window where it says it will try to recover the files like they where before the crash.

Re: Linux refuses to start

Thank you for all the help. @ Lysander666 No it was not familiar. I have installed Linux only 2 times before this with much effort, reading and watching tutorial video's. You are right. I don't understand the cause and why this happens. Like I said before, I'm an end user. @ rjsrjs My data was on an...

Re: Linux refuses to start

I have made a startup usb stick with Mint 19.2 Cinamon now.
I did a new install. That seemed the easiest.
Now I am testing a litle bit.

Re: Linux refuses to start

Oh, I see.
I can make a new startup usb stick and boot up with that. That's a good idea.

Re: Linux refuses to start

I can't do this because I don't understand. I don't know what a console is in Linux or what all this code means.
I'm an end user.
Unless there's an other way I don't see what else than a new install I can do?

Re: Linux refuses to start

I can't use the terminal or any application because I can't log in.
I don't have the install usb stick anymore. Then it seems the only solution is a complete new install with a new stick.

Re: Linux refuses to start

I don't use the wrong password. It's the password I always use.
When I use something else it says 'wrong password'
But when I use the right password, that I always use, it makes the screen goes black for 4 seconds and then the login screen apears again.

Or is it during the black screen that I have to use this combination?
