Going back to that vintage, probably a 2gb Radeon R5 230. They can be found around that price on Amazon

Re: Only 1 steam game has sound
That second error message makes it look like Steam Proton is detecting your other audio device. Just to test, are you able to plug an HDMI cable into a TV or something with speakers to see if the audio works there?

Re: Medieval Dynasty not running after update linux mint
When you say the new update, do you mean the last batch of updates in the Mint Update manager, or did Steam update? Or did the game update?

Any difference in performance if you add -vulkan or -high to the launch options?

Re: Victoria 3 stuck on Initialising Game
I did a bit of research on your issue, boy this game has a reputation of being buggy! One person on the Steam forums had a start issue with the Paradox Launcher under Linux and was able to find a workaround by forcing the Proton version and then switching back. https://steamcommunity.com/app/529340/...

Are you trying to play the native version or the Windows version through Proton?

Re: Hunt Showdown dont starts
When it comes to anti cheat software, the ball is often in the developer's court. Fortunately, Crytek has responded: "This is a known issue and we are working on it to fix it and apply the fix for the resolution as soon as possible." Hopefully it will be patched soon!

Re: Games running extremely slow after an update
I think that little message is in regards to a kernel issue, but since you're running an Nvidia card, I don't think it affects you? Did your stockpile of updates include a kernel update? If so, I would try making a Timeshift snapshot then either downgrading the kernel or making the jump to a newer k...

Not sure if this is your problem, but just across the wire, Hunt Showdown was broken with Easy Anti Cheat https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/11/h ... nti-cheat/

Re: which amd radeon for hardware acceleration/production?
Krita uses OpenGL for hardware acceleration, so either card should be fine. Celluloid is the included video player in Mint Cinnamon, it uses MPV, and hwdec (hardware decoding) is enabled by default. This uses VAAPI or VPDAU for playing, say, an MP4 file. You can press the "i" key during pl...

Re: Kisak/Oibaf Mesa drivers are not being used by system
I had a similar issue upgrading my MESA to Kisak-Mesa Fresh. I would install the PPA but Mint would still keep using the old MESA 22.3 instead of the newer 23.1.5. After messing with it off and on for months with no luck, The fix for me was to add ",i386" after arch=amd64 in the file /etc/...

EasyAntiCheat blocks Fortnite under Linux. I understand using Xbox cloud gaming or Geforce Now can work, but I have never tried it.

Re: XP-Pen Graphics tablet/monitor problem
I take it if you set your display settings to mirror, the pen is calibrated okay?
You may need to use the xsetwacom command to constrain the pen to your tablet. Sorry, I don't know what specific commands are needed, I use a Wacom and it worked out of the box.

Re: Mint 21
In the May blog, Clem said "the mutter rebase for Cinnamon 5.4 is now well on its way" I thought Cinnamon used Muffin? Is it changing in 21 to Mutter?
