Re: Restoring cinnamon menu item.

Thank you very much @smurphos. Deleting related desktop files from ~/.local/share/applications and then restarting cinnamon restored the menu items.

[SOLVED] - Restoring cinnamon menu item.

Hi, Recently I installed a software in my cinnamon desktop. It created some menu items in cinnamon menu after installation as usual. While doing cut and paste by mistake I deleted some of the menu items. I could not figure out how to get back those items. I uninstalled and re-installed that software...

Hi, In Linux Mint 19.1 and I found the brightness and audio level control using function key is not working after boot. However once I put my system in suspend mode, after waking up it works perfectly. I have no clue about the issue. For more info I am attaching my system configuration. System Info....

Re: [SOLVED] - Solution for Folder Icon

I found one minor issue. The solution does not work where the directory name contains space. I have solved it in the following way. #!/bin/bash OIFS="$IFS";IFS=$'\n';for F in $(find "/path/of/interest/" -type d); do if [[ -f "$F"/thisfoldericon.png ]]; then echo "Applying "$F"/thisfoldericon.png as ...

Re: Solution for Folder Icon

Wow, this just works. Think you very much @ smurphos I really like Linux Mint as it is and do not want to change the default things e.g. file browser because of stability. I believe this is a useful feature for many regular desktop users and this small utility should be included in Linux Mint by def...

Re: Solution for Folder Icon

I have tried the above solution unfortunately, it does not work with nemo. We can change the directory icon from properties manually one by one. After little bit search, I came to know that custom-icon info is kept as directory meta-data (gio info /directory-path). If I get any solution that will lo...

Re: Not able to boot multiple Linux Mint OS

Thanks to everyone for your support. Finally I resolved the issue. The way I was making bootable USB was the problem. I was using MultiBootUSB for this. Once I tried the tool provided by Linux Mint (USB Image Writer) it resolved. I am closing the issue as it is working fine for me. But still I am un...

Re: Not able to boot multiple Linux Mint OS

Thanks for your reply.

@JerryF
It is running in Legacy Mode. Terminal output is "Currently in Legacy mode"

@lostfarmer
You are right, Is there any workaround for this? I can run Ubuntu in same partition without any problem, but can't run Linux Mint(18.2 or 19 Beta).

In my system only BIOS is available. I believe the DVD (I used USB stick) is running in the same mode. I am not sure how to change it running in UEFI or BIOS mode. Can you help me regarding it?

Re: Not able to boot multiple Linux Mint OS

Thank you for quick response. No, I have not verified checksum. Actually I don't know the procedure right now. But I feel the problem is something else generic. Because it is happening for all linux mint (Even with the same image as I am using for my daily drive) regardless Linux Mint 19. Even I tri...

[SOLVED] - Not able to boot multiple Linux Mint OS

Hi, Currently I am using Linux Mint 18.2 as my daily use. I wanted to do beta testing Linux Mint 19. I can't delete my Linux Mint 18.2 right now because it is my daily driver. So I created a separate partition for Linux Mint 19 testing. I can run Linux Mint 19 live OS and install into new partition ...
