Re: LibreOffice:How to make 'Text objects' toolbar be present by default?

1. Evidently, at one time you did have the "Text Objects" toolbar by default and at one time it disappeared. It is possible that somehow it got corrupted. Can you go to the the following link and follow the instructions on " Resolving Corruption - LibreOffice 5.3 and newer. As with all situations i...

LibreOffice:How to make 'Text objects' toolbar be present by default?

Idk what happened in LibreOffice Writer but the 'text objects' toolbar disappeared and now I am having to open it through 'View' option every single time I open a text document. Where do I select and set the toolbars that I want should open by default every time?

Re: How to add libreoffice writer's .docx template to right click menu?

1. Create a new document in Writer. 2. Use "Save As" from the file menu and change the format to .docx and give it a name you want. 3. Put the file in the Templates directory in your home directory. Just a regular file. Templates directory doesn't do anything magical; it's just a directory with fil...

Re: I am getting ACPI errors on new setup during boot.

Few other problems I noticed 1. My kernel is: Linux version 4.15.0-47-generic. Looks like this is a problem to work with Ryzen 2200g? 2. My output for sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date is 08/08/2018. So looks like I need a bios update too? 3. Keyboard is lagging 4. Screen glitch during boot and wh...

The picture posted https://m.imgur.com/JuuAa8W shows me that there is an issue with the kernel, I would try to use the Grub menu on the install to use Advanced options and pick an older kernel to boot into
Tried a lot of older kernels under advanced options. None boot

Re: Unable to boot into live usb or system. Completely locked out. Help!

Anyone anything? Is just replacing the whole system the only answer now? I'm afraid it is. Computers die from time to time. The biggest loss in that case is the data. If the HDD is OK, you have been lucky after all. Yeah I'm afraid as well that's the case. Is there anyway I can salvage the motherbo...

did you also try the 'nomodeset' option ?.

How do I do this from the grub menu?
do look at that Tutorial:
- - What are these options? - - nomodeset
read that section . .
And if I try it for the live usb, I get the same 'uncompression error -- system halted'

At this point, I would do my tests from a live medium with the HDD disconnected, just in case.
+1. No point risking the HDD (and, more importantly, the data on it) until the machine is either fixed or replaced.
Alright. Done. I have disconnected the HDD

Could be a weak, failing power supply. I had one acting in a similar fashion a few years ago, and after everything else checked good we decided to try a different power supply. That did the trick.
Done. Checked this as well. No difference. Same error

Re: Unable to boot into live usb or system. Completely locked out. Help!

Maybe check that the RAM modules are firmly seated in their slots - (easy to check anyway when running out of ideas). Either that, or maybe one RAM stick has failed. In this case, the sticks should be tested in sequence, only one at a time. At this point, I would do my tests from a live medium with...

Re: Unable to boot into live usb or system. Completely locked out. Help!

Just a thought from remembering Windows fault finding:- Maybe check that the RAM modules are firmly seated in their slots - (easy to check anyway when running out of ideas). If loose, that could give an intermittent fault - though on more remembering - perhaps that used to give a "No operating syst...

You might want to remove the HDD and see if the ISO boots then, if it will consistently boot with HDD removed, get a new HDD

Good idea. Just tried this but no difference. Live USB won't boot. Screen goes blank after I select 'Start Linux mint 19 MATE 64 bit'

I select the option 'Start Linux mint 19 Mate 64 bit' and the screen goes blank. Nothing loading sign, no mint logos, nothing. It has booted in only 2-3 times so far since yesterday what happens, then, if on the Live Media - - when you select the 2nd Boot Option: - usually an video compatibility mo...
