Now, back to the original problem, having the USB show up in Windows, everything I have done has not allowed for the USB to show up in Windows. What am I doing wrong?

Re: USB Access in Virtual Box
Hello, I seemed to have fixed my problem(s). I took MajPooper suggestions and applied them, leaving me with a Extensions Pack. So again on suggestion I went to the Repository rather than the Software Manager and downloaded and installed that version, which went in beautifully and gave me no errors, ...

Re: USB Access in Virtual Box
Hello Major, I followed your steps and found an install that was removed, the ExtensionPacks still exist, do they need to go also, and if so how?
'/usr/lib/virtualbox/ExtensionPacks' not empty so not removed

Re: USB Access in Virtual Box
Hi Rick, I don't have any VB installed at the moment, I followed your "remove" suggestion, and that produced no results, and searching in /.config provided nothing. terry@terry-MS-7A39:~$ sudo apt remove --purge VirtualBox Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading stat...

Re: USB Access in Virtual Box
Hello Doug and Rick, Well I messed up my install and ended up removing VB. Now when trying to reinstall VB 6.1 I get a red bar across the top of the package installer with no text inside it and I can't install VB. There was a VB found in /terry which I deleted but the red bar remains and I cannot in...

Hello,
I have Virtualbox set up and running, but I need to set it up so that I can access USB thumb drive. Can someone point me?

I have been experiencing the same issue. I am running a AMD CPU and a Radeon Video Card, I wonder if it that combination or one of that is causing the problem??
