Dark or Night mode for this forum

I'm not sure where this will fit & I can't find the solution either. Is there a dark or night mode view for this forum? That light green and white are just too bright for my room. I know I can have firefox extension that toggles the light but prefer to have native control within the forum itself.

Re: Wi-Fi signal booster

I'm on a similar boat as OP. I'm in the dorm, trying to pull a wifi from my library approx 800 meter away. I'm planning to buy a TP-Link CPE210 as I've read that it can work in client mode as a strong wifi receiver. Is this the correct method?

Re: How to fsck usb storage drive?

I would still run another check and look for bad sectors, if there are any, this USB stick might need to be replaced. Here's the result. Compare to my previous check, it doesn't say anything about bad cluster or unreadable stuff. Does that mean it's ok now? Another question: Let's say this is a 32G...

Re: How to fsck usb storage drive?

Hi skylinestar Okay, well those results are a little unusual for me. System ID "android " Media byte 0xf0 (5.25" or 3.5" HD floppy) I wonder why it shows "Android" as a system id and Media shows "HD floppy"? When you first got this Sandisk 32GB thumbdrive (usb stick) did you use it with an Android ...

Re: How to fsck usb storage drive?

I have a few USB sticks formatted as "fat32" file system which I ran the command I suggested on and it provided useful details. sudo fsck.vfat -a -v -V -t -p /dev/sdc1 Here's roughly the result of my scan: sudo fsck.vfat -a -v -V -t -p /dev/sdb1 fsck.fat 4.1 (2017-01-24) Checking we can access the ...

Re: How to fsck usb storage drive?

So, what happens when you run the example console terminal command I gave you on that drive's partition? What are the results? It can take a little while to run depending on the size and content of the drive and its partition(s), so just let it finish. Can I not just run fsck.vfat /dev/sdb1 ? Is it...

Re: How to prevent showing Level 4 update?

As long as I don't update the kernel, all other Level4 updates should be rock stable, right?

<SOLVED> How to prevent showing Level 4 update?

Is it possible to set Linux Mint 19 Mate not to show level 4 updates in the Update Manager? Not only that, the systray icon shows the "exclamation mark update available" icon although I have no intention to install level 4 updates. Can we make it show a "tick" as long as I have installed all the lev...

<SOLVED> Update Manager not showing total file size?

Before Linux Mint, my previous Linux was Ubuntu 16.04. It shows the total download file size for updates. In Linux Mint 19 Update Manager, it doesn't show the total download file size. It does show the size for individual software. As a person who live on restricted internet (data cap), it is import...
