Thanks rich_roast, you where right, there was a pyinotify package indeed, I installed it and now the uploader starts up, but the Default values in the list are empty, I added an FTP connection using the mint server as described in the hints but the value of the combo (FTP, etc....) doens't get saved...

I have a translation error in the Gloria mintMenu, I use Italian as main language, but the button to swith from Favourites to All Applications is in French . I underlined it in red in the screenshot.

Potevi farlo facilmente in fase di installazione, bastava spuntare una casella che diceva pressapoco 'Login automatico' nella schermata di inserimento dati utente principale. Ora invece, hai provato a guardare sotto la gestione utenti?

Hi, I'm trying to install Linux MInt Elyssa XFCE on an old Celeron laptop with 200 MB of RAM, the liveCD boot succesfully, but when I click on the Install icon everything hang, even the mouse cursor, and I have no choice other than shut down manually. Any ideas? Thanks

I resolved in this way, from mintAssistant I enabled root user, then I logged in as root, I added the user, I relogged with my account, and from mintAssistant I disabled root user.

Prova da console col comando powersave.
"powersave -f" imposta la frequenza al massimo
"powersave -l" imposta la frequenza al minimo
"powersave -A" imposta la frequenza in automatico dinamicamente.

Hai provato a cercare su forum di Ubuntu? Ricordo infatti che la Mint è derivata da Ubuntu e ne è completamente compatibile, per cui tutto quello che si può applicare ad Ubuntu si applica anche alla Mint.

Comunque per rispondere semplicemente alla domanda "perchè Mint invece di Ubuntu?", perchè Mint ha tutto ciò che ha Ubuntu ma anche molto di + e meglio. Quindi a meno che a qualcuno proprio non piaccia l'aspetto grafico della Mint non vedo perchè non preferirla ad Ubuntu.

Anche Brasero non è male, in Elyssa ci sarà preinstallato, ora lo trovi tranquillamente col mintInstall.
