Re: BusyBox / Inittramfs

I am completely lost when something like that happens whereas in Windows would have some ideas on what to do! We all have been there. It's not easy to know what to do when one comes across such a thing for the first time. I'm glad you got it working and the system is back up again. The most probabl...

Re: BusyBox / Inittramfs

At the initramfs prompt type exit followed by enter. Post back any error message you get. This will give forum members some idea of the nature of the problem.

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
Open a terminal and run

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg --configure -a
type in your password when prompted followed by return and let it run its course. This should fix the issue.

Good luck!

Re: Volume Boot has only 8.7MB disk space remaining

You would need to remove some of the older kernels in order to free up some space in /boot. A good practice is to keep, apart from the currently running, another well-functioning kernel to have a spare one.

Manjaro if i recall correctly has integrated MS Office...
A side note:
Manjaro only provides a wrapper to the online MS office. Maybe that is what you meant?

I have a dual bootup.
If installed in legacy/mbr mode then I guess you would need to restore the bootloader of the other OS. Otherwise, if installed in uefi, then go ahead and delete the partition as mentioned above.

Re: Having trouble setting up dual boot

I'm guessing what I need to do is install Grub into the EFI partition (sda1), but I hesitate to do that because I've never done that before, and I'm worried I might trash the Windows boot and I suspect that would be a real pain to fix. Personally I would backup the EFI partition (EFI/Microsoft fold...

Re: Questions re: partitions for dual boot Win10

I read the "Install alongside another OS" is not the best way to go. I understand that \SWAP is not needed in 19.1 ? .. Is that true? Not an expert here but I think if you wouldn't mind having the home directory under / then "installing alongside" would be going down the path of least resistance. A...
