Custom Monitor Labels

Hi, I have a three monitor setup that works perfectly. Linux mint cinnamon however has the monitors named incorrectly. They are listed as Samsung Electric Company 23", Samsung Electric Company 24", and Samsung Electric Company 23" monitors - while in actual fact they are 24", 27", & 24" It's not a m...

Re: /etc/fstab mount not working on startup but no errors

Was also ogling this one when altair4 already responded, so shall just add... Additionally to his already mentioned x-systemd.idle-timeout I tend to also stick in a x-systemd.mount-timeout=10s or so so as to have the mount / the access not wait indefinitely for a potentially non-reachable server; m...

Re: [solved] Re: /etc/fstab mount not working on startup but no errors

Thank you so much, this worked perfectly! Sometimes I'm baffled...what's really strange is, that this was working perfectly for almost a year, then I got a raspberry pi 4, & moved the samba share to it...since then I've been experiencing this problem... The only thing that changed in my /etc/fstab w...

Hi, I have a samba share on a raspberry pi on my network. The entry in /etc/fstab on my laptop is as below. Every time I restart, I have to manually run sudo mount -a in order for the drive to be mounted. Can somebody please help me figure out why it doesn't automatically mount on startup? I have go...

Thank you, I switched to another icon theme, made the changes I required, then switched back to Krona.

Thank you for the ownership suggestions as well!

I really appreciate this community!

[SOLVED] 19.3 start button right click configure window not opening

I upgraded to Mint 19.3 yesterday. My start button disappeared after the update, but I put it back from Applets -> Menu. If I click on the cogs icon in the applets window, or right click on the start icon -> configure. Nothing opens. Can you please help me to solve this? Thank You in advance! System...

Cinnamon restarts on connect/disconnect from docking station

Hi, My system is running perfectly except for this extremely annoying problem. I'm on an XPS15" 9560, and using a Targus USB docking station (displaylink). Everything is working nicely, except that sometimes on boot the external screens are not recognized. I can then login fine (with docking station...

19.1 screensaver center align date & time

Hi,

In 19.1 there is only one screensaver available, which is perfectly fine. Is there a way to center align the date & time though?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Can I type special characters with Alt+Keypad like on Windows?

Filling in blanks for various characters in various languages would make a nice thread! How about umlaut? two dots above o and u and a in German aren't so obvious, not are the various diacriticals in Vietnamese, and so forth. krustybaguette Use Compose key, then double quote character, then your le...

Re: https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/auth/login not working

Maybe the G+ & Facebook links need to be removed if they're not supported.

Just thought I'd help, will mark the issue as solved.

Hi, I realise that this probably isn't the place to post this, but https://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/auth/login is broken. I can't login with G+ or Facebook. Do not have a github account to try that. Maybe somebody can get in touch with the correct dev to inform them of the problem. G+ returns: ...

Re: mysql install fails - please help, noob here

Hi,
I'm using the latest version. I managed to fix the error by running sudo apt-get purge %package_name% on each problematic package... reinstalling then worked 100%.
Thanks for your reply.
