Re: Steam blank login screen

I had to install the flatpak version. Only the flatpak version works.
Also, on another user account on the same computer, Steam works (the one installed from the Software Manager).

Where are the windows options "Menu, Sticky, Shade"?

Hello! I will update my Mint Cinnamon 18.3 to 20.1 next week... I am currently looking at the version 20.1 in a VM, and I cannot find these options that I liked in 18.3. They were in the "Windows" settings. Does anyone knows where I can find them ? Was it moved somewhere else? or removed ?...

Libre Office 7: How to show icons in menus.

If you don't see any icons in LibreOffice menus, here's a solution. This solution only works from version 7.0.3 and above. So also for 7.0.4, etc. First, in LibreOffice go to the Tools menu than choose Options . Then click the section LibreOffice:Advanced , click the Open Expert Configuration button...

[SOLVED] How do I activate/deactive Software Sources from the command line?

I need to activate or deactivate a PPA on a remote system that I support only via the command line in SSH... (I don't want to add or remove the software source. I just want to activate it or not.) I would be the equivalent of clicking a checkbox in the PPA Software Sources screen... There must be fi...

[SOLVED] Re: I Want My LibreOffice Menu Icons Back!

[SOLVED] (But not really, this is only workaround, I consider there is still a bug in LibreOffice and we should not need to do the following) From LibreOffice version 7.0.3 and +, here is the workaround: (You'll need LibreOffice version 7.0.3 or later because they made a fix on their side to fix thi...

Re: I Want My LibreOffice Menu Icons Back!

See next post for the Work Around. I discovered that with LibreOffice 7.0.3+, it works only if the Show Icons In Menues option was previously set in a previous version of LibreOffice, when the option was there (eg 6.3.4). But unfortunately, the option was removed for totally incomprehensible reasons...

How do I build this AMOR app ? with CMAKE? How do I use it?

How do I build this app ? https://github.com/KDE/amor
I got the source code (git pull) but now I don't know what to do! It's not explained in the repo.
There is a CMakeLists.txt file... so I guess I have to use "cmake" but how?

Re: I Want My LibreOffice Menu Icons Back!

LibreOffice's team fixed the bug.
Unfortunately, existing versions like 6.4.6 won't benefit from fix.
We'll have to wait/upgrade to 7.0.3 (when it's released, scheduled mid-November) or higher to get the fix.

Re: I Want My LibreOffice Menu Icons Back!

From the LibreOffice bug report: ( https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123265#c44 ) Turns out the problem is on our side after all. The problem was originally fixed in Bug 126830, but that fix gone lost when https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=1ae450504cf57457f97...

Re: I Want My LibreOffice Menu Icons Back!

I saw this explanation in the LibreOffice bug report: What is being followed is the desktop-level setting. Perhaps Xfce or Cinnamon desktops could somehow work around the GTK enforcement of no icons. In any case, this is not the right place to complain. (source) https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/s...
