Re: Linux Mint 19.3 “Tricia” Cinnamon wrong GPG key is on the 19.3 download page!

Well I initially assumed I had made a mistake, but as I downloaded the .txt and .txt.gpg at the same time and the shasums agreed I couldn't see how I could have got it wrong on only one file.

I guess we put it down to one of those things, maybe a caching hiccup or something. Sorry for the noise.

Re: Linux Mint 19.3 “Tricia” Cinnamon wrong GPG key is on the 19.3 download page!

I went to https://linuxmint.com/verify.php clicked on the 19.3 box right clicked on sha256sum.txt.gpg and saved as... Tried it twice with the same result and also downloaded the 19.2 one. The files are the same. However I just tried again and the file is different and correct, so perhaps it has been...

Linux Mint 19.3 “Tricia” Cinnamon wrong GPG key is on the 19.3 download page!

Just downloaded This version. Upon doing the usual verification checks although the ISO agrees with the shasum256 the shasum256 fails the gpg signature.
However the 19.2 shasum256 passes so it looks like the wrong GPG key is on the 19.3 download page!

Re: DVD burner 'read only'

inxi -Fxzd gives less than lshw which at least gives the drive capabilities as well:- Optical-1: /dev/sr0 vendor: TSSTcorp model: CDDVDW SU-208FB rev: TF01 dev-links: cdrom, cdrw, dvd, dvdrw The USB burner is back on another machine earning its keep so lsusb is unhelpful. However your comment re Image ...

Re: DVD burner 'read only'

Yes to all!
Right click on an ISO image and select 'Open with Disk Image Writer'.

I have now tried my universal USB writer with which I have written every format I know. That behaves the same way, with the same limitation in the Gnome disk utility.

Re: gksu removed from the repo's of Ubuntu 18.04

However, my suggestion would be that instead of the alias (not in addition to!) you can create a script ~/.local/bin/gksudo with this content: /usr/bin/pkexec env DISPLAY=$DISPLAY XAUTHORITY=$XAUTHORITY $@ Don't forget to chmod u+x ~/.local/bin/gksudo . That way you can use gksudo even in launchers...

Re: gksu removed from the repo's of Ubuntu 18.04

I have fallen foul of the gksu removal, and none of the discussions I haver seen in this thread come anywhere near my use case AFAIK, so use of admin:// etc does not seem to work. [snip] using pkexec /home/tim/bin/mounter/unmount.sh woodentop pops up a password window similar to gksu but then fails...

Re: gksu removed from the repo's of Ubuntu 18.04

I have fallen foul of the gksu removal, and none of the discussions I haver seen in this thread come anywhere near my use case AFAIK, so use of admin:// etc does not seem to work. My use case is having a simple bash script to mount/unmount several windows shares using a command of the form "mount.ci...
