Re: Audio Equalizer for Linux Mint 19.1

Ok, I'm not French myself, I had to translate the instructions, but the last part has you opening and editing a file. Unless you mean making a shortcut? When making one, command would be qpaeq, give it a name, and I gave it an icon that's in usr/share/icons/Mint-y/apps/96@2x/pulseaudio-equalizer.png.

Re: Audio Equalizer for Linux Mint 19.1

I followed the instructions in this thread in the French subforum for adding Pulseaudio Equalizer.
viewtopic.php?f=63&t=286853
I then added a shortcut and icon in the menu, then added it to the panel. Works great.

Re: Favicons Missing in Firefox Bookmarks

[Solved for me] I tried messing with this issue again tonight and what I ended up doing was deleting the contents of several folders (in the profile folder) including browser-extension-data, extensions, sessionstore-backups, and storage. I can't say what really helped, I don't know. But as a result ...

Some cool apps for guitarists you may not be aware of..

Thought I'd share a link to a site that started out as just one app for guitarists to control Zoom modeling products on Windows (that you'd have to use Wine with), and now has 3 apps with native Ubuntu support. They're very well made and for now at least free. There are some similar products out the...

Re: Hi all, 1 year into Linux

Hi scottyo! I've also been using Linux about a year (and a couple months). I found MInt to be pretty much perfect for me and find myself more connected with and able to learn and do more than I could with Windows. Welcome, and we may both have the same name too

Re: Cinnamon status bar questions

@wutsinterweb, add an applet called grouped window list to the panel if you're not already using it. Then you only have one item displayed per app open showing a number overlayed on it. Then if you hover over it, all instances are displayed in thumbnails to choose from. It makes things more organize...

Re: Linux Replacement for MusicBee?

You should look at Lollypop. Maybe it's similar to Musicbee? Maybe you've already seen it, it appears to be in both lists phd21 linked to I just noticed. https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Lollypop I just went back to using QMMP myself after giving Rhythmbox a good try for a few months. Seems Rhythmbox was...

A couple questions about PulseAudio-Equalizer

First, I use Mint Cinn 19.1. Lately I've seen this thread that's in the French subforum, https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=286853&p=1591089&hilit=pulseaudio+equalizer#p1591089 and last night I decided to translate and try it. It worked. I added qpaeq to Stark menu, gave it the associ...

Re: Favicons Missing in Firefox Bookmarks

Yeah, I noticed 'checkmarks' is actually successful in grabbing all favicons when I run it, but 2/3 or 3/4 of them don't display in bookmarks. I suppose I could leave a comment to the dev on the extension page.

Re: Why did you decide to install Linux Mint??

I could go on (and on) but short and sweet.. My current computer, a Dell Inspiron 3558 Laptop, came with Windows 10 on it. I used Win10 for a while (ugh) and put up with all the weirdness, but I guess about a year ago, the creator of Classic Shell (start menu replacement) decided he was stopping dev...

Re: Favicons Missing in Firefox Bookmarks

Yeah same scenario for me. I ended up adding the extension 'checkmarks' (I think it's supposed to be about the best solution for favicons right now) and it seemed to work somewhat, but there's still quite a few missing. I just started using FF again after using Pale Moon for several years so I'm hav...

Re: what are the key things that could be improved in firefox?

I very strongly dislike that with current FF you have to click repeatedly to actually get to the bookmarks. I mean, the whole purpose of a bookmark is to get to a url a.s.a.p. - and now they add extra clicks and obstacles to it. Are you just navigating to the bookmarks using the main menu on the ri...

Re: what are the key things that could be improved in firefox?

I never, ever, scroll thru all of the bookmarks.... too tedious, I have well over 5,000 bookmarks in FF.... that many just in my SubTopic of Motorcycles... and a couple 1000 in OtherBookmarks.... so, I just hit Alt-B <enter> and go straight to Showall and search for what I want. The first 15 bookma...

Re: what are the key things that could be improved in firefox?

Hmmmm, I use Showall Bookmarks many times a day, use it to find specific bookmarks pertaining to a topic search..... life would be horrible without 'showall' edit: The following is based on using the 'bookmarks menu' button added to the toolbar.. I see now that the 'show all' at the bottom is/does ...

Re: what are the key things that could be improved in firefox?

edit: The following is based on using the 'bookmarks menu' button added to the toolbar.. I just started using FF again after using Pale Moon for several yrs. I like it again, doesn't take up too much screen space if you hide titlebar, and it just seems to work everywhere. I can use bitwarden which I...

Cinn 4.0 and the underlines in grouped window list icons

Blech.. I dislike, I would prefer it go back to the way it looks with Cinn 3.8, highlighting the icon. Don't get me wrong I love grouped window list, I wish I knew about it and was already using before. GWL seems like it works functionally the same with a 3.8 theme (as far as I can tell) but with th...

Apparently this is not a popular issue to have lol. Anyway, the exact wording of the error I get trying to log in with Google on the desktop (using Firefox) is this:
