Re: Multi-monitor high-dpi scaling issues

That's a shame JospehM, because it doesn't do that for me at all. I have it set at 3840x2160 and setting it to "Auto" is the exact same as "Normal"... :\ I hope this is something that the development team can work on a bit, because it's a bit bothersome to have spotty Hi-dpi support. What's worse is...

Re: Multi-monitor high-dpi scaling issues

Per monitor scaling currently isn't possible. It's a limitation of X11. It's one of the supposed advantages of moving to Wayland but that also brings other issues. May I ask what the "Auto" scaling option is for? I have a 4k screen and setting it to "Normal" or "Auto" seem to be the same. Nothing a...

Multi-monitor high-dpi scaling issues

I have a 4k monitor in parallel with a 1080p monitor hooked up to my system. I noticed that Cinnamon "assumes" what the best scaling would be if it's set to auto. In reality, it doesn't do anything (at least for me) and I need to set it to "double" to make things look big enough to see on my 4k scre...

Linux Mint - Shell WavPack support?

I love the idea that WavPack files are natively supported in the stock media players provided by Linux Mint, unfortunately, the shell does not recognize WavPack tags in the file browser. To no surprise, FLAC files have their tags displayed in the browser, but not the WavPack files. For me, it hurts ...

Thanks for the help mate, and thanks for helping me realize what Focusrite is really like as a company...

Re: What sends noobs running back to Windows?

Before I get to my reasons, I got to say that I came to Linux to escape Windows 10, no joke. An update for Windows 10 came out and killed some of my programs afterwards. They were unable to launch. I'm awaiting the update that will fix the issue... Back to the question, I would say unfamiliarity. It...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen) reliability issues

May I ask if I should "jump ship" and get a different product instead? I've heard a couple reviews of people who had Focusrite products and intentionally left them in favor for another and liked the newer product better. Should I do the same? I'm just wondering because there could be another situati...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen) reliability issues

Update: Damn Youtube, thanks for not loading all the comments when I needed them, I revisited the link you sent me and finally the comments loaded... I got the firmware installed and it works fine now. I stand by what I said about them not being customer friendly, as that firmware updater is nowhere...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen) reliability issues

Some good information for you here: https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15810 In the 4th page of that thread, user SwJ58 reports: " Shutdown linux. Power on again. Doesn't work anymore until I boot windows and unplug/replug again. I guess the driver initializes the interface or something...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen) reliability issues

Thanks for your help MrEen. I took a look at the posts and it seems the only models people are using with Linux are the higher-tier ones. Such as the 2i2, 2i4, 2i6, and so on. I think we may be moving into "uncharted territory" with this. I guess we're on our own with this issue with no documentatio...

It is possible, but I hate giving in. I'm going to try to find something that'll help.
Thanks mate, you're about to save me nearly $100 if you happen to help me circumvent this whole BS of booting into Windows 10. ;)

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen) reliability issues

Oh man, I'm going to have to make a video showing off the issues because neither of you are going to believe me. I did everything you said and nothing was muted. (I even toggled the mute buttons a few times just to make sure.) Still no sound. So I booted back into Windows 10 and did my thing and got...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen) reliability issues

It gets even worse. I have to unplug my device once Windows reaches the desktop, JUST for Windows 10 to recognize it (it will not recognize it unless I unplug it.), only then, can I plug it back in and Windows 10 will begin to recognize it and begin using it again... :\ Then of course, I need to reb...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen) reliability issues

Is Linux sharing a temporary driver with Windows No. Absolutely no. I don't know what the problem is, but it is not that. There may be some magic incantation you have to chant to get the system to rescan for devices that have been disconnected and reconnected, and almost certainly somebody will kno...

Focusrite Scarlett Solo (2nd gen) reliability issues

Hello all, I'd like to say that I've been using Linux Mint Cinnamon for nearly a few weeks now and I'm very glad to get away from Windows 10 (until it matures at least...), but it's proved a bit rocky with me and troublesome for me and my audio interface device. I have a Focusrite Scarlett Solo and ...
