Re: CPU Scaling issue

Reread the post above you, performance handles the cpu freq, you wouldn't need to set anything for it. Also as shown in that post, just cause you're cpu is capable of 3ghz doesn't mean that's how its seen or would be entered in that file. Not relevant to you at the moment, as again ... leave that t...

does this command still work?

Code: Select all

cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_available_governors
It does still work. :)

Re: CPU Scaling issue

Hi, yes, I did edit the cpufrequtils: ENABLE="true" GOVERNOR="performance" MAX_SPEED="3000000" MIN_SPEED="3000000" I did not use ondemand but performance though. I also used sudo systemctl disable ondemand.service to disable the on demand service, as you have mentioned in your post before. Checking ...

Re: CPU Scaling issue

OK, I did a reboot and checked. It looks like cores 1 - 3 are now running at full power. However, the first core, core 0 remains locked at 800 Mhz. Changing the clock manually or setting it manually to performance, does not get it out of that. It does barely go below 800 but never goes above it. Any...

Re: CPU Scaling issue

Hi,

thanks for your reply. Actually /etc/init.d/cpufrequtils does exist.
I have made the respective changes.
Is there any way to make them active without having to reboot the system?

Cheers

Re: CPU Scaling issue

It is empty.
I checked that yesterday and added the line

Code: Select all

GOVERNOR="performance"
Apparently it shows the cores running at performance too... as you see in the above post. But they are still limited to 800 Mhz.

Re: CPU Scaling issue

It can go as high as 3 Ghz. I know that it should go higher when demand is there. But when set to performance, it should run at its highest clock speed. Which it does not. It stays at 800 Mhz causing severe lags and especially when gaming very poor frame rates. System: Host: BUSB1 Kernel: 4.15.0-43-...

CPU Scaling issue

Hello, I am having an issue with my CPU scaling. I am running an A8 Quad Core with 4 3 Ghz Processors. However, all the processors seem to be stuck at 800 Mhz. I have tried cpufrequtils as well as cpupower, to set the governors to performance, which becomes confirmed. However, checking the frequency...

SoH xcb Error

Hello, I am playing Shores of Hazeron. They provide a client para Linux Mint. There was just yesterday a client update, in which some major updates were performed. Ever since I downloaded the new client, the client runs fine but once I start the game, I get an xcb error: qt5ct: using qt5ct plugin qt...

Re: [SOLVED] KDE-Spectacle

Ah ok. I was of the impression it was - albeit an older version. At least that was what has been said in the thread you linked above. Anyway, I got it from the GitHub Repo so it is all good. Heh, I respond quickly because I just happen to be on the computer right now doing stuff.. the email pops up ...

Re: [SOLVED] KDE-Spectacle

Ahh ok. Good to know. I will keep that in mind. Just started it up and having a look at it. First impression is good. I downloaded the one from GitHub, since it apparently is no longer in the Mint repositories. At least I didn't find it.

Re: [SOLVED] KDE-Spectacle

Hi, thanks for your update. I will give KSnip a try. This looks actually like what I need. If I can change the config file so it saves the images as jpeg into the clipboard, then I am fine. When saving them on the actual computer, file format does not matter too much. It is just for copy and pasting...

Re: KDE-Spectacle

Hi, thanks for your comment. I did not know that. It is good for the future, to know that I can use just the launcher command. As for the screenshot tool: As I stated above, I work a lot with screenshots for my job. So I take them, copy them to the clipboard and paste them. For most part this works ...

Re: KDE-Spectacle

Thanks! That worked. I was looking for kde-spectacle. That was why it did not show up. Also I had to change the files from executables to all so that it was visible there. It has worked now. To my disappointment, I have noticed though, that the screenshots saved to the clipboard are also stored in P...
