It works fine. I was watching a video on building a computer and they hit 'escape' key but i should h...

Re: Edge or Regular Mint for AM5

The motherboard manufacture interface shows up on the screen when i start the computer. It shows to hit the delete key to enter BIOS for several seconds, which i do, but that doesn't happen - and it doesn't matter whether i hit the delete key before during or after the menu. Instead of going to BIOS...

Re: Edge or Regular Mint for AM5

Thanks. Everything is working ok with Mint 21. I get some weird error messages at start up but the computer gets over it after a few seconds and loads Mint anyways. The only thing really annoying, when hitting the delete key at start up, is getting a Linux grub menu instead of entering the BIOS as i...

Re: Certain fullscreen games aren't visible, can't alt-tab

If your running proton you may have to use a different version. Since they are old games try using a older version of proton. I have some old disk games on Wine that only work with 6.0 and not the newer versions. Also too, some of the proton games will not show a beginning title video at start up bu...

Re: PC Build Advice: Gaming CPU and GPU Combo?

Flash your AMD motherboard with the latest BIOS bare-bones before doing anything else. Some of the Ryzen CPU's had issues with the BIOS shipped with the boards. I got 6000 speed Ram because AMD says that is the sweet spot (my system is working ok). Choosing Ram is confusing at best but there are dea...

Re: Does getting a 7900X3D/7950X3D make sense on Linux?

There are other things to consider when building a new system for gaming or high impact processing. I watched reviews on AMD products since their new processors came out and I learned a lot. 1) Motherboard: Even though Pcie 5* just came out and current video cards* don't need it, next gen cards will...

I don't have all the parts for the new computer yet. When will the new Edge Mint be ready for regular use ? Rough date ?

Re: Forza Horizan 5 crashing

Don't feel bad. I have Forza 4 and had the same problem under Windows 10. Nvidia drivers where really messed up. All my games were crashing, if i played on-line, since last September. I ended up installed old Nvidia drivers to fix all my games - it would be nice if you could do that with Linux. The ...

Edge or Regular Mint for AM5

I'm building a new gaming computer and using Steam and have two questions: 1) Is it better to use Edge Mint as the OS or 20.x or 21.x? 2) AMD has drivers on there website as well so is better to install those from their website or not ? And which drivers if I do ? There are 3 driver category's on AM...

Re: Mint 21: Web Apps Program

Oh no. It's the Web Apps program in Linux Mint ( Run websites as they were apps). I use Firefox for websites in Web Apps but apparently something has changed in the programming of it so that title bar always shows when i pull up Firefox (i don't know if this happens in other browsers). When i custom...

Mint 21: Web Apps Program

I use the web apps program in Firefox with the 'navigation bar active' when i set up websites. When i customize the toolbar i always *uncheck* the "title bar" - More tools>Customize toolbar...>(at the bottom left) I uncheck Title Bar. For some reason in the web apps program after i close a...

Re: The buttons disappear on Nemo 20.3.

I see what is happening now. The whole upper panel is disappearing because the folder title is missing as well. I noticed the rounded corners on top are squared off as well.

Off topic a bit...Why did they round off the corners on top of the windows but not the bottom corners ?

The buttons disappear on Nemo 20.3.

The right minimize/maximize/close buttons disappear on Nemo when i maximize the window after minimizing the window. I also have File/Edit/View/Go/Bookmark/help on the left side of the window on a lower panel. I just switched to 20.3 cinnamon. Its annoying these buttons disappear because that what i ...

Re: Mouse(s) freezing/gets stuck frequently. Hardware problem?

Check your mouse pad to make sure it is in good shape or try using a different one. I got a mouse a few months ago, and was having problems with it, and found there was a small hole in the mouse pad. That's all it took to mess up the performance of the mouse.

Re: System doesn't wake up after sleeping

My mistake. I was using a different kernel. I'm on 5.11.0-43. There was a updated kernel i just installed a few minutes ago for 20.04 that fixed the same problems i listed in this post. The sleep problem must have effected my kernel too. Edit: It's not fixed. It's better but not fixed because it's s...

Re: System doesn't wake up after sleeping

I'm having the same problem and more. - if i wake the computer by pushing the power button the keyboard will not work. I can get it to work again by switching usb ports for the keyboard. Apparently sleep is disabling the usb port that is attached to the keyboard. (Edit: I'm on a desktop computer) - ...

Re: Wine: Game Items Stuck in Menu

I figured it out. I'm not sure if this menu works a little differently as in the past or not. Uninstall will not work to get rid of the Menu items but I had to use the edit under the left Menu portion of the Menu under the 'Applications' section in the 'Open the Menu Editor' rather than the right po...

Re: Anyone getting a Steamdeck?

I'm running some games on a 5700g desktop, with no video card, using Linux Mint to save on the electric bill. CSGO is one of my favourite games. I'm running this game on medium settings at 1080p, and it runs perfectly on my 60 Hz display - it gets a little choppy at 4k. It didn't run worth a darn un...

'Solved' Wine: Game Items Stuck in Menu

I installed Wine and some old games from DVD's. Whenever I install a game from the disk they install a bunch crap that doesn't need to be in the Menu. In the past i just right clicked on the item, hit the uninstall selection, enter password, and that would take it out of the Menu. For some reason wi...
