Re: Good Job Linux Mint Team!
Or do you mean upgrading to a new point-release of Linux Mint? So, for example, from 18.2 to 18.3? I think, because this is a non-standard approach which comes with risk, a graphical interface for this task wouldn't really be a priority. You're better off installing the new Mint, while keeping your...

Re: High usage of memory and CPU
Update: I left my pc turned on for a couple of hours, with Firefox open, then I continued using it and I noticed it was quite faster than before. I tried to close it and memory usage was about 1,6GB and every core was under 10% of usage, so I think your suggestions worked in the end.

Re: High usage of memory and CPU
Dump your Firefox add-ons (if you've installed any) and test. Furthermore, it doesn't hurt to take some load off your graphics: https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/speed-mint.html#ID5.2 (item 5.2) Thank you for your suggestions. I removed an add-on from Firefox and now i use Marco+Compton a...

High usage of memory and CPU
Hi! I use Linux Mint 20 MATE and for some weeks I'm having issues with memory and CPU usage. I use my computer mostly for surfing the web, I use Firefox, and I always keep everything updated, when there's a new update, I install it. The problem is that after using Firefox for a while my computer bec...

Re: Changing USB power settings
I enabled the USB power settings in the BIOS, but no additional settings appeared in power setting... So I didn't find a way to change this behaviour as of now. I'll report here if/when I'll find a solution.

Re: Changing USB power settings
I'm just going to jump in with a question. Do you mean that there is power to the usb port when the machine is powered down--completely turned off? If the answer is yes then the "problem" is not software. It is totally dependant on the hardware and neither the OS or BIOS will do anything ...

Re: Good Job Linux Mint Team!
I agree with you. I think that the only thing missing is a graphic upgrade system, which can be used by non expert users to upgrade their system. It would execute the same commands that we write in the terminal, but managed by a graphical utility

Establishing some Free Software Guidelines
Hi! I like so much Mint and I appreciate the ethical choices taken by Mint about some issues. So I was thinking: why doesn't Mint establish a set of Free Software Guidelines (such as DFSG for Debian for example)? I know this won't be enough for being considered completely free (as intended by the Fr...

Wine package on LMDE
Hi! I wanted to ask if the Wine package suggested to install on Linux Mint 19.2 will be also available in the LMDE software manager. It would be nice to have this package on LMDE in order to install the stable version of Wine just by installing that package

Can't see data trasferring window
Hello! I don't know why but from today, when I copy something from my usb to my computer, no window comes up. The files are transferred correctly, but I can't see the typical window that says the elapsed time and speed of transfer. How can I fix this?
