Well, since I was bored of Windows anyway, and since I had a backup of my files (apart from browser bookmarks) I'm reinstalling LMDE 5 using the entire disk. I just don't like having a messed up system. I'll try to remember to make a snapshot from time to time.

I used Boot Repair to obtain some info, it seems that "No boot loader is installed in the MBR of /dev/nvme0n1".

Partition 1 in Disks screenshot, Pioneer USB, looks suspicious. Maybe you formatted this partition (which was before efi partition). I am not sure how to troubleshoot that. Do you have a Timeshift snapshot? No, I don't have it unfortunately. But even if I had it, could I use it? Since I can't boot ...

Yes, it boots from live image, and the disk is detected.

I think maybe I remembered why this happened. While yesterday I was in a rush, I had to copy some files on my USB, which I remembered having a Windows image on. It looks like there is a key stuck... the one that takes you into the boot menu. Usually that is F12. I would check and clean the keyboard before doing anything else. It might be as simple as that. It could be a driver issue. Linux Mint has a most recent kernel version than LMDE, maybe that's why it starts (even though it lags then).
I'm not an expert of Macbook though, so I don't know if there can be any other reasons. You could try Asahi Linux and see if it works.
