Well, since I was bored of Windows anyway, and since I had a backup of my files (apart from browser bookmarks) I'm reinstalling LMDE 5 using the entire disk. I just don't like having a messed up system. I'll try to remember to make a snapshot from time to time.
Thanks everyone for your help!

Re: Laptop doesn't boot anymore
I used Boot Repair to obtain some info, it seems that "No boot loader is installed in the MBR of /dev/nvme0n1".

Re: Laptop doesn't boot anymore
Partition 1 in Disks screenshot, Pioneer USB, looks suspicious. Maybe you formatted this partition (which was before efi partition). I am not sure how to troubleshoot that. Do you have a Timeshift snapshot? No, I don't have it unfortunately. But even if I had it, could I use it? Since I can't boot ...

Re: Laptop doesn't boot anymore
I think maybe I remembered why this happened. While yesterday I was in a rush, I had to copy some files on my USB, which I remembered having a Windows image on. I think I forcefully formatted my Windows partition instead of the USB :? Not too bad, I didn't use Windows anyway.. but still, never seen ...

Re: Laptop doesn't boot anymore
It looks like there is a key stuck... the one that takes you into the boot menu. Usually that is F12. I would check and clean the keyboard before doing anything else. It might be as simple as that. Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately I tried to clean it but doens't fix it. Plus, if I click F2 ...

Re: Linux Mint LMDE - Blank Screen after installing
It could be a driver issue. Linux Mint has a most recent kernel version than LMDE, maybe that's why it starts (even though it lags then).
I'm not an expert of Macbook though, so I don't know if there can be any other reasons. You could try Asahi Linux and see if it works.

Laptop doesn't boot anymore
Good morning! I have a Lenovo V15 G2 which is not booting anymore. I'm using it since April 2023 and I never had issues. I'm using LMDE 5 in dual boot with Windows 11. Issue: when I turn on the pc I get this screen: 20230829_094510last.jpg Everything I select bring me back to this screen. I used the...

Keyring randomly pops up and delete Brave passwords
Hello! I'm having this issue on an Acer Swift 1 with Linux Mint 21.1 Xfce (but it also happened with previous versions). I sometimes get this popup when opening Brave browser. It doesn't happen everytime, it seems to happen randomly: one a month, or one every couple of days, it's always different. S...

Re: What edition are you using?
I use LMDE 5 right now, even though I'm not a Cinnamon enthusiast. I always used Mint MATE since I love MATE, but I'm really sick of Ubuntu, that's why I switched to LMDE. I hope in the future there will be a MATE edition of LMDE  Or that the whole Mint system will get Debian base as main d...

Halloween jazz music
Hi! I just found this Halloween music compilation on Odysee and I wanted to share it with you
https://odysee.com/@NoirVibes:4/Halloween-music:e
The genre is jazz, I think they're very nice to listen and even to dance, and maybe to use for an Halloween party

Re: USB not detected and read-only
Be again sure it is the sdb the default usb because this command will delete everything. It is the ultimate solution after that the recycling bin. It will take some time. dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb status=progress I got: dd: writing to '/dev/sdbstatus=progress': No space left on device 16165305+0 ...

Re: USB not detected and read-only
Try inserting it to a different computer (best: one with Windows) and see if it is accessible there. I assume that your device is corupted/broken (e.g. bad superblock). The USB was given to me by a Windows user I know, she told me that suddenly it stopped working and the PC didn't see it anymore. A...

Re: USB not detected and read-only
Is your USB flash stick write-protected? check to see if there is a little switch on it you can change so it gains you write access. but remove the USB stick first, change the switch, re-insert. if so, that should fix it. It doesn't seem to have any switch. It has a non visible part, but it's glued...

USB not detected and read-only
I have a USB that is read-only, it's not shown in the File Browser (I'm using Linut Mint 20.3 MATE), but it's shown in "Disks". Screenshot at 2022-06-22 16-18-48.png I tried to fix it using Gparted, I select the device (it's /dev/sdb) then Device->Create Partition Table->msdos->Apply and I...
