I was just curious if it could be done, I am staying with what I have. I am still having very very slow boot issues with 19 Mate. The other issue that I was having seems to have miraculously resolved itself, updates. I had not gotten a single update for over 2 months...suddenly I am receiving update...
Thanks for the answer ..and yes I have done that numerous times, to no avail that is what has me confused, The other issue that I've had ongoing, since installing the OS in August, is VERY long boot up time. Once the OS boots all is well and yes I have changed GRUB settings, again to no avail.

After installing Mint 19 Tara in August I have been plagued by extremely slow boot up. Once booted to the OS the system runs very well. Am wondering who else might have the same issue and what the resolution might be. The system is a Toshiba core 2 laptop, 4 GB ram and the OS is 32 bit. Suggestions,...
I installed Mint 19 Tara in August and have had no updates to the OS since. This strikes me as odd since another system running 17 receives updates on a fairly regular basis, thoughts?
