Re: No Bluetooh adaptors found.

Same issue with my Sony headphones. They work fine with the old bluetooth setup in 20.3. Now I have the same issue you describe. I'll keep watching to see if solutions arise.

Re: ACPI error - cannot boot - Can't start Linux

I'm interested in this thread too. I have a brand new Dell Precision desktop. It was preloaded with Ubuntu. I cut off secure boot when it arrived, but have made no other bios changes. It will boot a usb and install Ubuntu, Fedora, and openSUSE. I've tried several others, including Mint which I would...

On a related note, Have Gun Will Travel is on the old time radio shows too. John Dehner was a heck of a Paladin!

Re: Linux Mint 20.1 over heating!

Interesting post. My Dell Precision 3640 Desktop has the same issue, same temperature ranges as you. I can't stand the screaming fans! I gave up on Mint, especially Cinnamon, as it runs way too hot for my comfort on my computer in all distros I've tried. This is obviously a Cinnamon and/or Linux Min...

Re: CPU Temperature While Playing YouTube Video [SOLVED]

Me too. I've already been round and round looking at bunches of suggestions in this excellent forum, to no avail. I"ve given up and moved on. Like you, overheating is a chronic Cinnamon DE issue on my Dell Precision P3640 desktop and my old 2011 Dell Inspiron laptop also. Web videos and Zoom ju...

I started with Lindows/Linspire in 2002. It's Click n' Run Warehouse was one of best software managers I've ever seen.

Pink Login Screen

I've read other fairly recent posts about a problem with the login image disappearing for no apparent reason and being replaced by a plain Ubuntu-ish pink background that will not change, no matter what adjustments or changes I've tried. This problem has not been resolved in earlier posts, so I thou...

Re: Printer (Brother) Issue in 20.1

I don't have much hope to offer. I've given up. Ever since I bought my Brother HL-L2390DW Printer-Scanner, I've resigned myself to not being able to use any Ubuntu-based distro. At best it runs the printer and scanner clunky, super slow, and half way functional. No graphical representation while sca...

Re: Can't get youtube-dl to run

In the interest of simplicity, I'd just install the flatpak program video downloader. It is a youtube-dl front end that does the same thing.

Re: Printers that work on LM 20

I have the Brother HL-L2390DW printer scanner. Neither the printer or scanner are happy with LM, nor is it happy with any Ubuntu based distro. LMDE works great with both the printer and scanner, as it is also happy with most every other distro I've tried. Just not with th 'buntu's.

Cinnamenu Goodies

I love it when I discover new Linux goodies - at least new to me anyway. Today while looking around in Linux land, I read about one that I did not know about. The applet Cinnamenu has a feature called emoji search. I love it! I have longed to have good emoji support in Cinnamon for some time. Now I ...

Re: Programs Stay Open On Panel

Try Zoom in openSUSE, Fedora, etc - all the Gnome distros. Zoom or any other app in process never appear on the panel. If they do, an extension easily cuts this process off. One problem solved, at least. Telegram is solved. I found a box in the settings to deactivate that removes the system tray icon.

Programs Stay Open On Panel

I'm not sure how to language this, but I'll try. When I open programs like Steam, Zoom, and Telegram, an icon for the program appears in the system monitor area of the panel. When I close the programs, the icons stay on the panel, indicating the program is not closed, but rather paused. I have to cl...

Re: Brother Printer- Ubuntu Distros Mismatch

But try to get a Brother printer-scanner installed and running in any of the 'buntu's.... forget it. Well, I have a Brother printer/scanner which installs and works perfectly in Linux Mint 20, which is almost identical to Ubuntu 20.04 "under the hood". Same in Mint 19.x (Ubuntu 18.04). Wo...

Brother Printer- Ubuntu Distros Mismatch

I have a Brother HL-L2390DW Printer-Scanner. It installs like a breeze in over 10 other distros, including deb's, rpm's, arch's, and solus, I've personally tried, including Linux Mint LMDE Debbie, which I run now. But try to get a Brother printer-scanner installed and running in any of the 'buntu's....

I tried that and found it only a partial fix. I was only able to put it on the clipboard within the browser, but not, say, onto a LibreOffice document.

Did I not set it up correctly?

Youtube-dlg.deb gives you the gui version of youtube-dl.

Click on the following file I found on pkgs.org and the download prompt will come up:

Emoji Applet?

After getting frustrated with multiple Gnome distros having chronic little nuisance malfunctions, I have returned to LM after some time away - seeking stability and ease of use. Of course, LM has this in spades. Question: One thing I can't find - an applet that puts a pallet of emoticons before me t...
