Re: Linux Mint 19.1 Weak Wifi Signal Strength

Try

CODE: SELECT ALL

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe -r rtl8723de && sleep 5 && sudo modprobe rtl8723de ant_sel=2
If that is better

CODE: SELECT ALL

Code: Select all

echo "options rtl8723de ant_sel=2" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8723de.conf

Auto connect VPN?

I'm wondering if there is a way to set my ethernet connection to always default while connected to a US VPN Server? I know Ubuntu has this as an option in the network settings panel but can't find anything similar in mint.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: [Solved] VPN Problematic with some websites!

have you tried using a different VPN instead? Also, a desktop VPN functionality differs from Android or iOS VPN functionality. What VPN are you using? VPNs are supposed to unblock websites. Strange. Try contacting their Support.

Need help with USB installation errors

I was installing Linux Mint on a USB via Live Boot. The installation was at the “copying files” stage and during this time I suddenly got a blackout at my place for about 15 minutes. I tried to install again but when I insert my USB it says that it cannot mount. When I tried to install it said that ...

Re: What's the difference between 18.03 and 18.04 and 18.10

If the kernel is updated on 18.3, what would be the difference? What are you talking about? Ubuntu? Linux Mint? In either case, the numbers you mention in your topic title are at least partly non-existent. My bad. I understand now that Mint 18.3 is based on Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04 is the base Mint 19.x...

Issues installing Linux Mint (Ubuntu fails too)

I just purchased a new laptop in order to run Linux and become familiar with it. The laptop in question is an Asus GL503G (Hardware reference: https://www.proshop.dk/Baerbar/ASUS-ROG-GL503GE-EN214T/2681541) When attempting to install either Mint (Cinnamon) or standard Ubuntu, I have quite a few issu...

Guacamole on Mint 19

I'm in the process of setting up my old PC to use as a remote desktop server for when I'm at school. My school really only has Chromebooks, so I figured Guacamole would be the best since it's accessible through just a browser. The install script I was planning to use only supports Ubuntu and Debian ...

Can I migrate my entire Mint install to another computer using Timeshift?

(I am aware that Timeshift does not copy all the files and user-configs by default. You'll need to configure it to save visible (user files) and hidden files (user configs) in the user home directories too.) I would like to know if I can save Timeshift snapshots on a USB-Drive, plug them into anothe...

Getting into Linux Mint Mate, is there a way to customize the keyboard inputs?

I am using Linux Mint Mate with an old netbook and I am loving it so far. The only issue I have is that I am not able to customize the keyboard. I have set the main keyboard layout in US English, but sometimes I need to write some letters that are only available on a German keyboard which I don't ha...

How good is Mint for gaming with Wine/PlayOnLinux

I'm considering switching over from Debian as I'm sick of the nonsense it's giving me. Is Mint going to suffice for this? Some distro's cant install the staging builds easily because they don't have access to the repo's, but I've heard Mint can use launchpad ppa's All I really want to do is play Min...
