Re: Second internal disk (Ext4) no longer accessible

If your HD system is starting up correctly, we can now fix fstab and the suggested mount point for the ext4 partition. If the "/media/Archivio" folder still exists, run the commands: (If it no longer exists, you can create it, respect the capital "A"). sudo umount UUID=240248c7-3974-4eb0-a5a2-280bd6...

Re: Second internal disk (Ext4) no longer accessible

Sorry for my mistake. I managed, I don't know how, to copy the wrong line from my own fstab. - Boot through the Linux Mint installation media. -Mount, through the File Manager, the partition where the Linux Mint is installed on the hard disk. -Open the "etc" folder (on the hard disk) as root. -Open ...

Re: Second internal disk (Ext4) no longer accessible

Before running your last instructions, is the mountpoint you suggest ok? I usually find disks mounted under /media/[user]/[disk name] or under /mnt , to mount disk automatically at startup (only read about that, never tried) ..... The default automatic mount point for removable media, when inserted...

The root user can mount and unmount it, but the standard user can no longer do it, is no longer authorized.

Re: Does this new installation partition mix look normal for LM20?

.... I hadnt formatted the 320GB free space yet, because I thought/think that the LM20 installer will format everything automatically, during a new install, when I choose the option to erase the entire disc. Big mistake?.... Although the figure does not show the entire interface of the Discos progr...

It's from the synaptic log files here - /root/.synaptic/log Perfect! You solved the riddle. Thank you very much. https://i.imgur.com/vvfDpc0.png That is why the "File searchers" (Catfish, Kfind) crashed when searching the file content. Example: "2020-06-18" The "File Searchers" were run in user mod...

... I have used gparted many years ago but it does not seem to be part of this installation.
Gparted comes in the installation "iso" but is not installed on the system.
Simply install Gparted via Synaptic.

Re: Is there a record of package upgrades?

Synaptic shows a very well organized history. Describes clearly by date of occurrence what was: updated installed reinstalled removed However, where Synaptic gets this information from and how it filters and organizes it is a mystery. The fact is that the integration of the Mint Update Manager with ...

Very complicated for a simple task which is to copy an object from one location to another.

Re: Is there a record of package upgrades?

dpkg logs in more detail what it does. To only see package updates from the log run grep " upgrade " /var/log/dpkg.log (the whitespace is important).c] In fact, the contents of dpkg.log (only "upgrade") still log more than the Update Manager "update list". The Update Manager update list records onl...

Re: Is there a record of package upgrades?

The question proceeds.
I also have this doubt.
The contents of the "/var/log/dpkg.log" file do not match the Update Manager's list of updates.
It may be that one list is a summary of the other but I was never able to decipher it.

Re: Copying a Backup - "you do not have permissions"

As I mentioned, the backup is already created, so I am trying to copy that, not make a new backup (it is not a current backup, so it does not have the same files/folders as if I made a new backup now). I do just want to copy documents and other files as you mentioned, but the one folder that crashp...

Re: i am unable to create folder in partition

I don't like the left panel of the File Manager in the form of "places", I prefer it in the form of "tree" because it is more intuitive.

- Navigate to the "parent" folder (/media/bhumit070/).
-Click with the right mouse button on the "Projects" folder -> properties
