Let me explain:
I have put a password on the shared samba folders.
And to test if the folders need a username+password to get access to. I need to re authenticate so i can test it again.
Does that make any sense ?

Thanks really useful info but I can't seem to figure out how to in the server ip to thunar side panel.
And i am concerned about security is adding a password to shared files really enough ?

[EDIT]: the 2nd option (smb://xxx.xxx.xx.xxx) seems to work fine no errors
the other one has errors. (the one i mentioned earlier).

Indeed i already installed avahi and the server is discovered that isn't the problem The problem is when i try to open/mount shared directory on my linux mint install it works but only for a certain amount of time until it gives me the following error: Failed to mount Windo...

Failed to mount windows share: Connection timed out [SOLVED]

Hello,
As mentioned in the title i get this error while accessing my home server running ubuntu 18.04+samba.
It works finr in windows but it doesn't work on linux.
Any idea why ?

I have my wallpapers in /home/username/Images
And it used to work but now it doesn't display an image preview and I can only change wallpapers with the keyboard even though there are plenty of .jpg files in that directory.

Wallpaper manager is broken

Hello folks,
So I've been using Linux mint about 1 year now and I love it
But I encountered a problem.
I can't change wallpapers anymore. They aren't shown anymore and yes the Images directory has multiple. jpg files
Any help?

I don't know which sound settings you are talking about but the problem is in Firefox because all the other apps work perfectly

Hello, I have a problem i use firefox32bit on Linux mint 19.1 64bit The install is fine but i can't hear sound from it when playing audio or video even thought the audio is fine in other software. In other words the audio doesn't work i Firefox 32bit but it does in 64bit. Any help would be appreciat...

Hello again,
Before i've used compton.conf it wasn't popping
and now after i've edited the config file, it pops everytime i start a new session.
and even if i switch the WM it won't fix it

I can confirm that the list of startup programs doesnt unclude thunar
I can also confirm that it didn't do that on a fresh install.
I think it has to do with

I have a problem with my linux mint install
Everytime i start a new session, it opens this directory on thunar with a red excalation mark:

Hello,
I noticed that there is a little panel freeze after login
for example the whisker menu didn't open when i press the shortcut combination
It's a smal problem but it bothers me
Hope you understand what I mean
